@@devins1495 maybe not a few dollars but the typical 300% retail markup is easily in effect. It's just how much you want to see the EUC community grow. Power Knobz could probably be a little more lenient with entry price.

The technology is getting there. The speed is just not enough. It needs to go at full speed in all directions at 50 mph. It would be awesome if a drone could chase me from the front. There just to many factors to consider while riding. In a groupride or through light traffic, I would not trust a drone. Even with my Insta360 X4, I am very careful.

@TheEVside why do you need to go 40 or 50 mph on an EUC? "That's very dangerous" I already gave you a reason. But I will repeat. If I want to ride at 30 mph and I want the drone to chase me from the front. The drone will need at least to go 50 mph just to keep up with me. And I don't want a static shot. I want the drone to move a bit, while following me at 30 mph.

Good video, and great for Gridserve to open in Knebworth. Just a shame that every Gridserve charging location is limited to 2 Megawatts spread over the entire site. so if the site is busy, charging speeds are limited which may lead EV owners to think their car isnt charging fast

Unfortunately quite dissapointing as a LEAF owner, been waiting for this to be built and opened since it was announced. Sure they've installed 2 CHAdeMO chargers, however they're limited to 24KW. I would have to stay for over an hour to get the same as half hour at the Norwich forecourt and other providers. Plus one is in a disabled bay? Might as well not installed any.

If you only live five minutes from Knebworth Gridserve then you have plenty of multi-point charging hubs nearby. Yes Gridserve is superior, but you weren't without options before. I know, I've charged at Stevenage in the past.

I think tech will catch up there are solutions coming and that work but most are being blocked by local councils which is why home charging for me is an issue hopefully this will change

On a pounds paid per mile driven an EV still comes in way cheaper than petrol even at the most expensive chargers.

@@trevorberridge6079 no, it doesn't. That's just dumb to say.... My EV does 4 miles per kWh. If I paid 80p per kW I'd pay 40 freaking pounds to charge my car. I can do more than 160/180 miles with 40 quid of diesel....

When you described the solar and battery arrangement, and then declared that hardly anything taken from the grid, I laughed out loud. Have you done the sums? I'd be surprised to see the solar make much of a dent in the total throughput. The batteries will just help smooth the flow when busy. Do you include the coffee and croissant cost in the overall running costs of the car? Good to see a roof at last, something missing from most charging points. Rare not to have a roof at a petrol station.

If you watch Auto Expert John Cadogan, he has presented more than one video with lots of numbers, with the calculations, showing how little the solar produces. Anyone presenting such statements, needs to back it up, not call for doubters to disprove. Of course the providers will want to say their system is green, independent calculations are needed.

What size solar array is that. Looks like probably 400 panels at say 440w per panel that about 175 Kw generation per hour on and nice day.

Gridserve forecourts are fantastic but I don't wonder how financially viable they are. For the shops to be viable they need a lot of throughput of people and the site will need to be full most of the time and often they are not. At least this one is in a decently location on main routes so more likely to get more traffic than some of the others. Only 4 tesla chargers as they are going to build another larger site in Stevenage itself.

lol yes I do it’s not for everyone so each to there own for me I used to live in an apartment and for 2 years charged public without issues I still don’t have home charging and this makes it easy for me. Living too far? Check Zapmap thousands of chargers , cables cut very few over the thousands however agree this does happen and thanks for the luck ….

@@trevorberridge6079 having lived in an apartment in a high crime area near Paris for years, I fail to see your point about not being able to own a normal car. Just park it anywhere and done. Your EV on the other hand, cannot be parked underground and becomes useless after 2 weeks of not driving as the battery dies over time. I see only drawbacks, sorry.

Dual charging heads. Braintree are single and also probably because of the parking layout being reverse or forward in rather than just drive up so dual charging can work. Sadly I'm too close (and do have a home charger) so I probably won't use the chargers there but I'd have been grateful for this the first 3 months after I moved in and didn't have a home charger.
