That’s all I been catching out there this year except one around 18” maybe 2 and a half pounds?. I seen you out there and hoped you had better luck.

@@fishingwithvin they were all very healthy, but none of them had any size unfortunately. I haven’t ever seen that lake that clear and with it being as shallow as it is, very possible that the bigger fish were offshore where I wasn’t fishing.

Yes, I hear thatbraided line that line is no good in structure. You get a big cat on especially flathead lots of times they will break you off 40 pound big game mono best choice.

@@2IzzyReelzFishing I have tried the Big Game but don’t like the stretch in the river. I make a lot of long cast so the low stretch and thinner line helps. Most of the obstacles I deal with are wood, which isn’t very hard on braid. The issue with braid is hard objects like rock or metal, but those things cut mono fast also with a big fish on the other side. I do use 50lb big game for my leaders though.

@@seancasey7672 they were so shallow and biting so light, he got the bad end of it. I use a 7’ 3” MH/F Kistler Helium as my primary pitching rod for shallow cover.

This was the state lake, not the reservoir. I did a lap around the lake.

Are you using an internal or external power source? I've pretty much always used an external source and had few if any overheating issues. I'm always surprised when I hear guys have those types of problems.

They gonna destroy our flathead population we need to use common sense when keeping these fish use your brain like this guy just did watch what he did learn stop lamb lining jugs, and running lines across the freaking lake and our rivers thank you very much

Awesome to see a big fish like that get released, but I guess you’re not supposed to pick them up vertically because they’re organs and stuff are so heavy. They can rip themselves apart from being in the water to land. Their weight just isn’t meant for land.

@@kenmonroe2474 it is and I will post the name after the tournament. It’s a roadrunner format so we can fish a selection of lakes in Kansas from a list and this was one of them.

Heck of a bag for a Tuesday nighter. I was at Lone Star Saturday flipping those willows. Got quite a few bites, couldn't get any in the boat. I was using a big weight and think i may have been setting the hook to hard to knocking their mouths open. Gonna try the smaller weight that you recommended tomorrow and see if it works better.

@@seancasey7672 if you’re not using a straight shank flipping hook, that makes a big difference also. There’s quite a few sunfish in those willows and they’re hard to tell the difference between a them and a bass in the thick stuff.

Nice video. Feel free to plead the fifth on this, when you are flipping that deer tongue grass, are you using a big 1 oz weight? or are you getting through it with a lighter weight? trying to figure this technique out and i am on the struggle bus.

@@seancasey7672 Those are water willows and I never go above 1/2oz weight. They have been all the way behind it on the bank a lot lately, sitting in inches of water. It’s not like flipping regular, matted grass because there’s rarely a canopy and the stalks go to the bottom. So if it’s thick enough that you need a 1oz weight to get through, there’s likely not enough space for a decent sized fish to be sitting in them.

How well does it pedal when the xi3 is in stored position. Just wondering if the pedals hit anything with the motor up

@@ryanwarwick5128 when the motor is up there is zero interference with the pedals and head of the motor. My last fishing trip that I posted, I actually fished most of the day with the motor up because the lake was so shallow.

@@TheTrophyChannel yes 😅 also for boat control. It’s awesome in the wind and being able to spot lock is great. Not having to pedal forever on long runs doesn’t hurt either but it isn’t much faster than pedaling.
