My sister and I were fortunate to visit the museum a few weeks ago. My grandfather and great grandfather used to work for the council based where the museum is now located. Following my mum's death this year, we retraced her home in Chorleywood and her wedding reception at The Swan Hotel in 1959. The museum were generous in their time and allowing us to peruse the archives. We donated some of my grandfather's drawings and information about Moor Park. It was wonderful and helped us connect with mum in a special way.

One man whose vital contribution wasn't mentioned by the chairman was Jim Forder, of the Croxley Camera Club! A very fine input to the brochure, Jim, for which we're very grateful - forgive the oversight!

Mrs Richards: "I paid for a room with a view !" Basil: (pointing to the lovely view) "That is Torquay, Madam ." Mrs Richards: "It's not good enough!" Basil: "May I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window ? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? the Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?..." Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea!" Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky." Mrs Richards: "I'm not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction." Basil: "Why?! Because Krakatoa's not erupting at the moment ?"

Why hasn't Mick got an apostrophe in his name in his fruiterers shop sign? ... Tut, tut! And people usually say on these films that everybody is thin, and there are no "foreigners" or mobile phones!

Where did you get this footage? The documentary this was part of only includes Mr Tibbles’ journey to Baker St, not from, and I’m looking for footage of the A-Stock being taken into and out of service. Any help finding the source footage would be brilliant.

Why do they have to do away with everything? A question The water inside the tanks must be polluted by contact with the gas(?) Where do they dispose of it or is 'safe' to pour down the drain?

I can't believe this popped up on KZbin. I was Keith's manager and was just behind the camera for his last trip. Tim O'Toole, the head of the Underground came to see Keith at 5am that day to say thanks to him. Didn't want to do it when the cameras were there so came when Keith booked on first thing.
