Mrs Richards: "I paid for a room with a view !" Basil: (pointing to the lovely view) "That is Torquay, Madam ." Mrs Richards: "It's not good enough!" Basil: "May I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window ? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? the Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?..." Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea!" Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky." Mrs Richards: "I'm not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction." Basil: "Why?! Because Krakatoa's not erupting at the moment ?"

Thanks, Les for providing the subtitles for the deaf people like myself! Nice Ricky Festival 2014 memories! Roll on next Ricky Canal Festival - I would look forward to go on a canal boat cruise to Lot Mead and back then! Thank you.

My Grandad Alf Best was a lock keeper at Stockers Lock. Many great memories of working the locks with him. That white house is beautiful.

Why hasn't Mick got an apostrophe in his name in his fruiterers shop sign? ... Tut, tut! And people usually say on these films that everybody is thin, and there are no "foreigners" or mobile phones!

Where did you get this footage? The documentary this was part of only includes Mr Tibbles’ journey to Baker St, not from, and I’m looking for footage of the A-Stock being taken into and out of service. Any help finding the source footage would be brilliant.

Shame there isn't a set of these trains left now. Scrapping everything was most economically viable. Memories are superficial.

That was all down to the previous Tory government that wanted to get rid of the old tube trains instead of modernising them

Why do they have to do away with everything? A question The water inside the tanks must be polluted by contact with the gas(?) Where do they dispose of it or is 'safe' to pour down the drain?

I can't believe this popped up on KZbin. I was Keith's manager and was just behind the camera for his last trip. Tim O'Toole, the head of the Underground came to see Keith at 5am that day to say thanks to him. Didn't want to do it when the cameras were there so came when Keith booked on first thing.

Thank you so much for sharing this video. I lived in Rickmansworth, as a child, at this very time and this video has brought back so many wonderful memories. At the time we lived in Loudwater from 1962 to 1965, then moving to Chalfont for three years, finally returning to Croxley Green in 1968 for three years, before moving to London. I was frequently in the town with my parents and I remember the winter of 63. I so wish I could turn the clock back to what was a very happy time. It's brought me a lot of joy seeing the shops, buildings, Swan Hotel, vehicles and other such familiar sights and it's rekindled personal memories of events and daily things we did and experienced. Thank you!

He called it a fast train to Baker Street but announced it was stopping at Wembley Park. When I used the Met Line in the 90's the actual fast train didn't stop between Harrow-on-the-Hill and Finchley Road. I suspect it had to stay out of the "fast lane" in order to stop in Wembley.
