I recently bought the 5 string version. I was going between this and a newer flasher Ibanez with the oval "sound holes". Having only played a handful of fretless basses in a few shops it was really hard to make a choice, but I really enjoy what I got. Now I'm looking at the Ibanez upright bass. Too many toys...

That's true, there is too much gear and too less money :D I don't like those holes in the newer Ibanez, which made my decision a bit easier. The only big difference is the pickups - but those basses shine more with their Piezo system!

Had a sr505 years ago, love the sr basses, just wish they had wider string spacing and came in 35” scales, but I guess that’s what the BTB line is for

I think the only way you get an SR with 35" is with their multiscale basses. Maybe check out the EHB models. You can adjust the string spacing by yourself and has a neck between SR & BTB.

I hunted this bass... couldn't find any in the EU that would ship to Ireland. Ended up getting the SRD905F.. but I did want the high C. Maybe will have to look for it again on the used market

@@Megatronpt i think in the EU you only get the 4 & 5 string version of it. On the US website of Ibanez it's still available as 6 string. Try to get this bass!

@@Slaminski One shop in Slovakia had it.. 1300€ .. and wanted 150€ for transport. I play a BTB806MS frequently, but wanted a fretless.. ended up buying the SRD905F. Other option was a 3000€ Warwick :D

This bass has been next on my wishlist for a while. All but one of my basses are fretless. Can't get enough of the versatility, verses the sloppy ease of fretted.

Great review! I am really happy with mine! I just wish that the app worked on Android, PC or Mac. Editing with the pedal controls is easy but still a bit annoying. The size is barely okay for easy operation, I wouldn't mind if it was 10-20% bigger. But on the other hand, it's so easy to throw it in your gigbag and always have it with you. And it also seems really sturdy, feels like it will last for a long time. Overall an awesome pedal, especially for the price!

Moin Roman! Bitte sehr, immer gerne! Slappen ist zwar möglich klingt aber eher gewöhnungsbedürftig. Der Slap Sound entsteht ja durch das Berühren von Saiten und Bundstäbchen. Zudem kann das slappen auf einem Fretless das Griffbrett beschädigen, da die Saite(n) direkt darauf fallen.

Lukas, if you had to choose the best solution for starting with bass, what would you choose: Mooer or 60B+? No studio, no gig, just playing at home. The most flexible. Is the quality of effects in Mooer much worse than in Zoom?

60B+ The Mooer need some more improvement in bass amps & effects in general. For example: The pitcher in the mooer can't handle bass so good. And it took some time to get a good tone out of the Mooer.

Yes, it got several octavers inside. Analog Octaver = Boss OC-2 Bass Octaver = EBH Octabass Mono Pitch & Poly Pitch

I am considering purchasing this device. Can you clarify the device controls, as I have not found any information anywhere... Is it possible to create a bank with 3-4 pre-made presets? Is it possible to turn them on in any order with one click, without scrolling through the presets? Thanks for your reply!

The presets are not in banks, just preset after preset. In order to change presets you have to use the two upper buttons, which is live very unconvinced. But you can use MIDI to change presets. I used the M-Vave Chocolate with the old MS series for changing presets or turning on/off effects in the unit.

I used it as a live amp modeler with a few effects that are inside, like a an overdrive, delay or phaser. The footswitches where used to turn on/off the effects. Now it's in my home studio for some studio work.

I have the old version and it has been in my pedalboard since 2014. I used it in so many ways...as a stand alone pedal using it as a booster, compressor, flanger, equalizer...I had some presets when I wanted to go light (small venues, rehearsal rooms,jam sessions).. finally I let it inside my gig bag, just in case. For the 98 bucks I paid it has been my most valuable pedal.

I love my MS-60B+. I had never used a multi effect pedal before. This one is super easy to use and the app makes it even easier to tweak sounds. I was considering the HX Stomp but for my needs, the Zoom was a much better fit.

I have the old-school version of the MS-60B, and it's come in handy to run before the MXR M81 preamp, when I want to add color and random effects. The new one looks cool. I enjoyed the video. Thanks!

It would be a killer gear if it ahd XLR output (same for guitar variant) and possibility to load 3rd party IRs. It would take a cake out from everyone.

That's true, those are the only downsides. For me the 3rd party IRs are not so important and for the XLR I carry a small DI Box around.

I didn't used any amp or post-processing. It just the bass itself. Strings are D'Addario EXL165 + .130. String height was not to low, but really comfortable. Pickups are Nordstrand Big Single
