As far as I am concerned ,Monticello Harness racing track officials and many of the drivers should be in prison. The track name itself along with a number of other Harness racing tracks should be in the HALL OF SHAME.. I have been around the race tracks over 50 years. I stopped being naive 45 yrs ago, and finally realized many races, both flats and harness are fixed. TODAY However, In Harness Racing it is not even done quietly. It is done out in the open, AS IF TO SAY. I DARE YOU TO STOP US. . Montce;;o has a great history, and a driver who might be going into the hall opf fame. Recent history though with the advent of ways to communicate, has made it much easier to CHEAT, and In My OPINOIN Monticello is one of the leaders in cheating its fans and all betters. Harness Racing as a whole belongs in the HALL OF SHAME.

I went to high school ( bayside high in queens n.y.) with Howard Oil. He used to imitate Bob Meyers of Yonkers Safeway during lunch.He was terrific, very entertaining. Everyone who listened knew the he was going to be a race caller for a living. I'm happy to see it worked out for him I know he really loves his job.Best of luck Howard from Bayside High school alumni 1972

Don't know if anyone seen it but the driver of the 4 horse was hitting the horse on the hawk to get a little more out of him!!! You can see it in the stretch right before the finish line!!!

Used to go there a lot in the old days especially on Sunday afternoons with my dad we used to love the corned beef and pastrami sandwiches
