I hitch hiked to that show. Still remember it so well

Wow! I was at that show. It was my second time seeing the Dead. El Monte Legion Stadium was my first show In Dec 1970. But, this was the show that made me a "Dead Head." Jerry's Too Hard to Handle solo, that night, was as good as it gets, too.

I came across a bootleg of this show around ‘95. In Durango, CO…Animas Trading would make copies of bootlegs if you brought in blank cassettes. You pick the bootlegs, that you wanted copies of, from their collection. Come back in a couple days and your cassettes were ready! Super dope!!

Phish in the 90's was amazing. Phish in the 2000's was okay. Phish now is a lot of 'Weee oooh, wee ohhhh, weeee ohhhhh" for four minutes then a little bit of playing a melody, then a lot of a jam. I like how in the 90's it was peaks and valleys. Highs and lows, and melody changes, and songs that were trying new things. I was at Hampton 97 while they played there two sets and nothing after that ever beat that to me. I just feel like they still get along, still play great, but are not on the level of exploration they were on in 1990's. They were like what the Grateful Dead was to the 1970's to 90's.

@@dabble855 yeah they have turned into major dad rockers. The newer material at least lends itself to some really good jamming. I was pleasantly surprised the last time I saw them, they still get me there. but the question is, who will replace Phish in the scene? I hope it's not goose, i just can't get into them.

Watching this on the 25th anniversary of Jerry’s death. I am only 18 years old and I wish I could have seen Jerry live on stage. My father tellls me so many stories and I’ve seen Dead and Company with John Mayer 5 times now, but nothing matches the magic of Garcia. Fare Thee Well, Jer.💀⚡️❤️🤧

Great tour! When it stopped at Big Birch ski slope in Patterson, NY; I was so stoked Santana was playing 5 min from my house. We lined up at box office and got 5th row tickets. There I discovered Phish the opener, I was blown away, my first Phish show. I was sitting there amongst empty seats 5th row. During Santana Phish came out and jammed.

Anybody know the source of this tape? I recorded this show from the 12th-row dead center. It might be from my original but I'm not sure. There wasn't a tapers section at that show, I think they weren't allowed but I was a stagehand :) I had a sony d6 with a sony ecm mic. This sounds like my recording :) I still have the master
