Virtua Fighter has basically degenerated into Tekken trash. Funny considering it was always Tekken copying Virtua Fighter.

rrr... is this the best Akira of NA? seems the skills between NA and japan is really far apart..but I appreciate that there's some from the west enjoyed this game.

Ultimate Showdown would be cooler if Sega Japan allowed AM-2 and Ryu Ga Gotoku to bring new fighters. One is a xinyiliuhequan user while the other practices piguaquan.

Why didn’t Sega allow new fighters to come? Surely it would make the game more fun and interesting. Virtua fighter is one of the best games I have played in my childhood and it’s a shame that it doesn’t receive the love and care like Tekken.

@@Based4Life I read somewhere that Sega Japan was loath to bring back Virtua Fighter: they know the series does a lot better in their home land than the west.

Maybe its difficult to develop characters for this game?. Like each character is pretty sophisticated (if you wanna call them that), and it makes sense that it would be difficult to develop characters for this game. But i still hope that they would bring new characters to the game. Maybe make some design changes for the rest of the cast.

@@coreo2408 AM-2 was given the green light to work on Ultimate Showdown around 2019. If they ask Sega Japan two or three years earlier, AM-2 and Ryu ga Gotoku would've took the opportunity to make new fighters.

@@6arcsn1sky they only had a year of dev, they did consider doing balance patch for characters but decided not to. I'd rather them make a new character for a new VF

His execution is sick but I've seen better evasion tactics from other Akiras. Akira is so nasty if you can side step efficiently with him.

VF Fans play for the depth involved. Even though they dumbed it down a little from VF4 FT the skill ceiling is still really high.

Very nice Kage! He's my fave. I play him too but I have such a hard time... I think his lows outside of stances are awful :( Also they removed that throw from stances he had in previous VF games(where he jumps on opponent and slaps him) and now the stances are weaker...

This game is not like most other fighting games. Every character in this game is balanced quite well. Akira is indeed considered S but that is only at the highest levels of play. Ironically he is the least reliable character for amateur players in Vf5 as he has 0 scrub friendly strategies. You really need to understand the poking game in VF5 to be good with Akira.

@@TheSoCalledZoner1 ah I play Lion who has a good backdash game. But Akira’s Super Dashing Elbow is scary and can chase a backdash good and punish it hard 🙏🏼
