Correction of previous statement. I meant to say most bad guys are NOT trained fighters. Excuse the mistake, please. I will do a better jot of proofreading from now on.

Tansu has very few so-called set up strikes. in a real fight you want quick efficient direct strikes that damage the bad guy. There is a time and place however. A sweep will move your attacker to a position where you can access his back. Most bad guys are trained fighters and won't expect this kind of attack to their legs. A sweep is another tool in the box that you can use if the opportunity presents itself.

it can make a huge difference in the power you can put into your strikes. Add your body wt. moving forward, to the power of your hips and upper body twisting, to the power of your arm, even a small person can generate a lot of power!

A slap is safer for the slapper also. Punching can easily break a hand.

That is true if the puncher doesn't punch correctly. Hammerfists are also good substitutes for the basic punch.

These 2 young ladies are intense. Notice the match does not end just because it goes to the ground. A real bad guy will not stop trying to hurt you just because he knocks you down, or you fall down. If you go down, you have to continue fighting. When someone is trying to hurt you, you cannot give in until you have stopped that attack and gained safety.

I, actually, find the techniques in these videos useful and applicable. I like the straight-forward, no nonsense approach.
@raysneed8905 ай бұрын
Thank you. That is our aim. A person should never participate in violence (outside of sports) unless it is forced upon them. But if it must be, it needs to be fast, accurate, efficient, and ended as quickly as possible. A real fight is no time for complicated techniques, or fancy moves.
@billyraysneed69855 ай бұрын
You should never get grabbed if you are staying alert and aware of your surroundings. Still, humans are fallible, many things can effect our level of alertness. So for that time, you are not as aware as you should have been, and somebody grabs you with intent to harm, here is a good way to deal with it!

Some conversation I have had, prompt me to add this point. The wrist position for this strike has to be just right. Get on a heavy bag, strike it slowly, with very little power, at first, to make sure you are doing it correctly and won't hurt your own wrist. Slowly build speed and power. On the other hand, if you are totally uncomfortable with this strike, a Y hand strike to the throat is an excellent alternative as a front hand strike to the throat. Y hand strike uses the web between the thumb and first finger. ONE of my favorite strikes, actually.
@raysneed8905 ай бұрын
Not sure why it cuts off there at the end. There wasn't much left, but I will see if I can restore the ending.
