So you are using Easy Off(or sodium hydroxide) to remove the anodized surface..

I replaced the serpentine belt tensioner. I recommend going with an OEM replacement

This turned out to be the serpentine belt tensioner which was deceiving because you can only hear the noise during this specific condition. Listening even with a stereoscope pointing directly on the tensioner did not reveal the noise

First off, thank you for sharing this information. I have a 10 gallon compressor, Max 135 psi. 5.0 cfm @40 psi and 4.0 cfm @ 90 psi. Do you think it can handle this impact wrench?

@handydaddy4232 thank you very much for the fast response. I haven't seen very many people running this wrench with a smaller compressor, so I appreciate your input. Take care, respect from Ontario.

I have a GE fridge and I believe I need a new defrost thermostat. There is one within two degrees of the on & off temperature of the original. Essentially, isn't this just a switch that opens and closes with temperature changes? Thanks

I heard that you can repair the thermostat by placing in boiling water. Is this true? have you heard such a thing? I have not tried it yet

It turns to be true. I tried it and it will reset the the Bi-Metal sensor. Don't know how long it will last but, it works.

He supposed to be the first Filipino race car driver to race for the ARCA Menards Series at that year but with his death, this plan was not materialized! Enzo being the only Filipino NASCAR Wheelen Driver is historically achievable for the sport. He will be remembered.

UPDATE: Unfortunately, mine finally died today 4/28/2021. The compressor stopped running and a quick check for resistance between the terminals revealed an internal short circuit. I blame this on me neglecting to vacuum the thick dust buildup on the back which probably made the compressor worked so much harder. I used to do this every year but got lazy for the past 3 years.

Great video, Handy Daddy! I probably went through at least 5 other DIY KZbin videos before coming across your excellent video. The difference on your video from the other videos was that you were the only one who identified a burnt-out bulb (totally blacked-out) that may be causing the defrost system to malfunction which was exactly what happened to my side-by-side GE fridge. I hope that my fridge will be fixed by replacing it w/ a DEFROST HEATER ASSEMBLY. Fingers crossed! Thank you very much!

After 6 days, my fridge seems to be holding steady at 0 degrees F (freezer) & 36 degrees F (fridge side) so it looks like the issue was limited to just the burnt-out DEFROST HEATER BULB. Thanks again for your awesome advice, Handy Daddy!

No freezer gets to 140 degrees, whenever the defrost thermostat senses 40 degrees the contacts open thus terminating defrost. How do you keep ice cream frozen at 140 degrees? Think about it

@@winstontaylor4364 It is only sensing the temp behind the rear panel where the coils and heater bulbs are ........ Refrigerators make frost on the coils so we got to melt it out once in a while ......

Ignore the critics but I do have a question about the final color of the etching. As I understand your demo, first remove the anno portion you want etched, exposing raw aluminum. Then electro etch the stencil but since your process uses a copper anode, does that apply a copper anodized color to the etch or do you use boiling die solution to color match the rest of the lower? Feedback appreciated!
@handydaddy4232
@handydaddy4232 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment! The use of a copper anode was honestly unintentional. It was simply a scrap piece that I had laying around. I am not sure if it had any effect on the color of the etched portion that resulted in a dark bare aluminum color. No die solution was used in this process.

If the etching solution only works on raw aluminum, why did you place the vinyl onto a black anodized surface?

L140°-30°F is high limit thermostat, contacts will open at ≥140° and close at ≤110°, subtract second number from first to get closing temp, function is to cutoff defrost cycle at stated temp.

Hi, I am glad you found the video helpful. The Ebay listing where I previously purchased from is no longer available. However, a quick search of "ge refrigerator defrost heater" will bring up many current listings. Just make sure the bulb is compatible with the model of your fridge also make sure the seller has many positive feedbacks. Good luck!

FYI: the thermister (temp sensor white) you threw away at 11:54 time, was probably still good, there seems to be about 4 K ohm difference between the #5 wire on the J1 Plug Upper left of main ckt in back of fridge, and the other wires #'s 4 (upper temp sensor), #3 wire (lower temp sensor) , and #2, and #1 wire (these are fresh compartment temp sensors, if its there). so if you unplug J 1 plug and (UNPLUG FRIDGE FIRST) and test ohms between wire #5 and #3 I get the 16.2Kohm but when you take the temp sensor out and use ice water it tests only maybe 12kohm ? i'm thinking that the #5wire is not directly connected and incurs an additional 4 kohms . (all my tests were when freezer was let to rise to 30deg F exactly. ) So i got about 9kohm between #5 & #4 wires, but ice water test of that upper sensor gave me only around 3.4kohm, similarly I got the MAGIC 16.2kohm on bottom sensor using J 1 plug wires #5 & #3, as said, but taken out using ice water only got about 12kohm maybe, the other 3rd sensor I think is in the fresh food area of the non freezer section further back from the light (havta research that), My #5 & #2 wires (fresh food temp sensor) measured low at 10 Kohm as well indicating it is probably bad. Sometimes there is a 4th fresh food temp sensor (not in my model) that go to wires #5 & #1. Hey, nice video AND using home style test equip for the DIYer made it better. of course specific bench test equip is best but if it works !
