Hi Everybody! FYI - when you click on the GPT I mentioned it will look slightly different as it is now focusing only on Functional Language lessons. I also incorporated some useful feedback I received and it's definitely a lot better. I hope you find it useful and do let me know what you think! Let's learn from one another!

Congratulations Robert. That is an amazing accomplishment. May I borrow your experience? What TEFL academy is a good choice, value for the money, to teach in Spain? I am 63 years old and looking retire in the US and teach in Spain. Thank you for your consideration.

Thanks, Linda! There are tons of language schools so that's a great question. I'd say those that are accredited by or members of national associations, IHWO, EAQUALS, or the like are likely to offer better conditions (they're not great across the board in Europe in the private sector and worse in Mediterranean Europe because of low demand) so be prepared! Schools that belong or are accredited by these organisations are bound to min quality standards and working conditions. I'm an IHWO and EAQUALS Inspector and can speak for those schools to be good places to work at because of the standards they're required to adhere to. I hope this helps and in touch, Linda!

Thanks for this tip! I've tried it and it's tons of fun. It is awesome for classroom songs. My girlfriend is a teacher, I am her "secretary" 🤓. It's also useful for prompting yourself to get into (or out of) a specific mood, like a motivating song. I use a generated song to calm down from anger, for example. I think Suno is very powerful, and I like that the credits get refreshed daily, giving you access to 5 songs (10 if you count the second track), and if you wanna buy more, it's not that expensive, 10 dollars for a month. A really cool tool. I was thinking of composing some songs on my guitar, but the beginning is a bit intimidating. This tool is a great creative tool, helps with ideas a lot! 🎸

I have been struggling with an adults class for the last few months and find it really challenging to keep cool and avoid arguing. Sometimes they put my nerves to the test, but I think that this piece of advice is a real treasure. Being in charge sometimes means preaching with the example and showing emotional intelligence. Thank you Robert!!!

Thanks, Maria Belen! I hear you! I've been there many times when in my head it's like a TV show and I bit their heads off. Not engaging and biting my tongue has saved me many times and I've learnt to just do the drill in my head, haha! Then, I talk it out after the heat is off! I know I can be annoying too so I give them that and try and put myself in their shoes! Thank you so much for your comments and I'm delighted this tip helps!

So great to see you in video Robert. You continue to be an inspiration years later. Great to see positive voices on AI and the nearly limitless possibilities it offers to enrich our daily practice and the lesson we plan to help our students. It tends to get a bad rep as the lazy teacher's plagiarism tool here a lot lately. I haven't dived in as far as you but I agree with so much you say here, and I'm looking forward to the video on writing prompts when you (hopefully) get a chance to make it. Now if only we could use AI to give us 30 hour days.. sometimes that's what I wish for because there's so much exciting stuff and so little time!

Hi Leonie! So happy to read your comments here and that you subscribed to my channel! Thank you! And yes, I'm working on that video so hopefully soon so stay tuned. I totally agree and I think as with every tool we need to just be critical and use them to our advantage and that of our students! Yes, I need 30 hour days!! Hahaha!
