All good othee than how much you do in a day tracker. Mondays and Friday's are only for the operator to know

I work in a coal mine driving dozers - mostly D11's - and little diggers - 50 to 120 ton machines. We use Leica for all the work around the mine. Great to have something where all the machines in an area can work off one design file to achieve a result. I had to dig a 3mtr deep trench the other day to put some 280mm poly pipe under a new haul road for a highwall pump we will need in the next month or so.

An intelligent excavator would accomplish this same work much quicker.. you should try one out.

Do you happen to have a workflow on how to access the what I'll call "Dig to Line" function?

Excellent work. We in Morocco have few movements that work with this technology. To work as a group leader in the field of digging trenches and building reservoirs for potable water

Love the videos mate thank you very helpful! Can you please make more videos? How do I create a horizontal offset? Like if I have to box a road out at 1m behind back of kerb how would I go about that?
@steggcivil2 жыл бұрын
Hi Nate. That's no problems. It combines steering horizontally to a line (to outer edge bucket) by 1m.....then using surface to grab height off inner edge of bucket. 2 assumptions: 1) whoever has put your file together has strung the lip or back kerb line you are steering to. 2) your bucket is wider than 1m

No problems Jim. Glad you like it. I'll be finalising a series of video tutorials in the next little while which will showcase all of the abilities of the machine control from the seat. Let me know if you're interested and I'll keep you informed.

Stegg how do you get the machine to dig to a line like that? does it still need a surface loading for the trench? or can you do it by just loading up a 3d polyline ?
@steggcivil3 жыл бұрын
Hi Anthony. Digging to polylines (or creating your own to dig to) is not covered in this video. You can certainly create your own 3d polyline in the file or even create from the digger. Ideal for sewer or stormwater installation on line and grade!!!
@anthonydowd81803 жыл бұрын
@@steggcivil that's great goes that negate the need for a surface ?
@steggcivil3 жыл бұрын
@@anthonydowd8180 No mate. Surface excavation is used to dig out roads, wetlands or to dig utilities below a finished height (minimum requirements). Digging to a line is different and also necessary in some applications like stormwater and sewer digging where the trench (ie pipe) needs to be on grade and not relative to the surface at all.

Just wondering how many meters a day you average with that system?
@steggcivil3 жыл бұрын
Hi Nigel. Tough to say - I didn't ask the guys while I was there but they were dealing with limited access for crushed rock, traffic management, the digger is set between trees and powerlines so probably not the job to set as a benchmark. With Topcon GPS you don't need anyone checking heights.....and no-one to paint the line for the trench.....so if the guys at the back can keep up with stone and laying, then the first digger can usually drop back and backfill earlier.

@@steggcivil Thanks for the reply . I’ve only been digging for a couple of years and was mainly interested how many meters ur lead digger does just to see how I’m travelling. We do airport lighting so average about 5-7 km for a rural airport job. Cheers Nigel

I'm Happy to say I'm learning how to create plans in m 3d to load onto the machines with topcon and it seems to be coming naturally. Oddly I think it's kind of fun.

I wish you would put more videos out. This one is supper informative. I’d like to see a video for doing triangulated surfaces. All the custom surfaces would be great. In video display is super nice.
