This is a really fun run of comics. So cool that you're covering it. Another epic Robocop series is the Frank Miller/ Jaun Jose Ryp miniseries, not cheap but well worth the price.

I really don't get Us Vs Us. Is it for vax or anti vax? The anti vaxxers are depicted as bad for burning a church full of mutants but the people who did take the vax are all mutants who plan to eat the infected once they're dead. There wasn't even a clever twist or anything at the end. I don't get it on any level?

Don't know about that title, 'Epitaphs From The Abyss.' It's a bit clunky. The classic EC Comics titles were short and catchy one or two syllable words, 'The Haunt of Fear, 'The Vault of Horror,' Tales From The Crypt,' not 'The Catacombs of Lamentation' or 'Testimonials From Oblivion.' I feel it needs something snappier and pulpier like 'The Tomb Of Dread' or 'Lore Of The Damned.'

I think the story was held back by the entire Crossgen story in the long run. Especially as they tried to shortcut that story in the end before the publisher went out of business. As a straight-up fantasy story it was great.

The fact that Doom named her Valeria after his love was some heart warming shit. He saved her then she sacrifices herself for him. That is some great writing.

I'm gonna apologize upfront for the rant, but after that first issue I'm still all the way on the fence. I know its only one book into a multi-line imprint, but I just didn't see how this clearly distinguished itself from any of the multiple other horror anthology books recently or currently on the stands aside from the EC logo on the cover and the digitized Leroy lettering font. Honestly, I think the recent Creepshow books almost do a little better job homaging the original EC format, where each individual story is bookended by host The Creep, where - outside a host appearance the intro page - and no slight to the individual artists or writers, these stories just feel like they could be dropped into literally any horror anthology book. Maybe I'm just mismanaging my expectations (and I most likely am), but as a devotee of the original Pre Code books, this landed with a pretty unremarkable thud to me. The double-edged sword of directly cashing in on the near mythical EC legacy also invites direct, if unfair, comparisons to some of the best comics ever made. I really hope they can pull together a better cohesion as the line moves forward.

I've just read it. I'm huge Witchblade fan and I would say that overall the comic book is good, the writing is good as well and I enjoyed it but I'm very mitiged about it. Why ? Simply because it's pale in comparison to the original in many departments. Art is good but not near as beautiful as Michael Turner's and same as characters design. Whether it's Sara Pezzini, Ian Nottingham or Kenneth Irons they're not as visually stunning or interesting as before. Reinventing Sara as ex Special Forces soldier is interesting and the circumstances she get the Witchblade are totally changed....but was it really needed ? The original Witchblade comic books are pretty much timeless and aren't outdated at all....au contraire, they are still as slick and gorgeous as before so why this reboot ? My point is don't fix what isn't broken. Sara Pezzini story didn't need a reboot at all. The comic book is good but I would have been better to makes him about a new Witchblade wielder and new antagonists. That's my humble opinion.

Was never a big Namor fan, but its just criminal how the MCU handled him. I was actually counting on seeing him being presented into an interesting character that would grow across franchises to learn more about him and develop and interest, but not gonna happen anymore. Comics it is then.

I'm a new comer to this character.. Ive always seen the old Witchblade comics from the 90s in dollar bins but didnt know much about it. My local LCS manager told me witchblade was kick ass and then when he told me it was in the same universe as The Darkness, a game I played back on xbox 360... thats when i was sold. Awesome first issue.

Aaron’s writing is top notch, and the artwork really pops off the page, especially the action sequences. Great #1 this week, and excited to see the remainder of the story!
