Is that the Givi M3 monokey Plate? I'm picking up an S1000R and planning to do a similar topbox fitting 😎
@RizwanMustafaTheMullerRider8 ай бұрын
Hiya. Yes its the monokey plate. I've got a v47 which I've been using for years and the plate fits perfectly to it. I think they're mainly generic. I've gone back to an S1000r (21rrg) which has a different plate from the 2014-2020 bikes. Hepco do the plate for it, but its another £150

Was there a follow up video after this? Could't find it. Given your experience with this I'm interested to hear what you think is the best option for cooling upgrade? Is the second fan really the way to go?
@RizwanMustafaTheMullerRider9 ай бұрын
Hiya. This issue was resolved with the new motor. But at the same time I also added a second fan on the other side of the rad. I had it all apart so thought I might as well do it instead of relying on the single unit. The second fan was from a 2008 busa and I managed to wire it in to the same circuit. It worked a dream and I had no other issues with the overheating. I've uploaded that video in to KZbin aswell. Hope that helps.

I'm sure you'll enjoy it as much as I did. I bought a Powerbronze double bubble screen for my bike after this trip, the deflector is useless after a certain speed. I also sold my busa now, needed something more forgiving on my back. But I do miss the lady, she's an absolute pleasure!

Yes, good call. The current screen for me does seem to be lacking, OK for average distance, but for a European trip, I think this will show its weakness. I'm sorry to hear the bike has now gone, hopefully the new steed is more forgiving!

Food in ones mouth is not a mouth full of food. There is a distinction between the two, a subtle one perhaps for some to make the differentiation based on the quantity of said food. But a distinction nonetheless.

Hello Marc. Thank you for your kind comment. I’m thinking about getting bar risers for mine, do they help much? I’ve started to experience pain in my lower back so need some extra support, it’s either that or move on to something more comfortable which I’d rather not do just yet. Also looking to have some gel inserts put in my seat, it’s not very comfortable at the moment.

Hiya. I've gone with a company called Mercury custom ear plugs this time. I went for the in ear option and paid about £150 for them at the bike show. I've not had the chance to test them yet but they feel OK when I put them in and sound quality seems good too. Ill know properly when I use on long rides. Mercury's customer service isn't great though. I bought them plugs at the end of November 2022 and was told I'd have them by mid Jan 2023. Roll on February and still nothing and they didn't have anyone I could speak in customer service, it was all via email which they never replied to. I got a bit worried mid Feb but a strongly worded email done the trick and the plugs arrived shortly after. It makes me think that if something goes wrong with them then how will I get them fixed.... I also considered a company called Sonic earplugs based in Birmingham who do custome plugs for the emergency services. But they don't generally do orders for the general public so didn't seem overly interested. I hope that helps, its tough to find a qualith product with good customer service. Happy hunting!

I’ve just bought a pair of Mercury Ear plugs. Despite the build quality of the Ultimate Ears, the sound and technology was/is brilliant and it spoils you. So I took the plunge with a different provider. I’ve yet to use them but Mercurys customer service is shockingly poor. Let’s hope I don’t need to contact them.

@RizwanMustafaTheMullerRider2 жыл бұрын
Not sure what you mean by ‘get what you pay for’. I paid the ticket price and bought directly from Ultimate Ear. Perhaps the quality has dipped a little since you bought yours? Great to hear you’ve got 8 years of use out of yours, I won’t be buying another set that’s for sure.
@Chazaxl2 жыл бұрын
@@RizwanMustafaTheMullerRider Its a saying which normally means that there is value in paying more (for some items). In this case, I believe mine have done well and were the better part of £300 at the time as I also paid for faster manufacturing as we were just about to do a European rideout. But cant comment on the current quality. It's a simple device and simple materials, unless its been changed a lot, it should be the same.
@RizwanMustafaTheMullerRider2 жыл бұрын
@@Chazaxl I paid just under £200 for mine. A bunch of us did at the time as similar to you we enjoy riding across Europe and like to have comms with one another as well as our devices. I don’t believe there was a more superior option at the time I purchased these, but I may be mistaken. As I’ve said in the video, the concept is great but I certainly felt the build quality was below average. One of my earpieces actually arrived damaged so I had to send it back for repair. Mine are also uncomfortable after a few hours in, despite the lube. Maybe the dimensions of my ears have changed over the years but lots of things to consider when assessing to buy a set. There is another organisation called Sonic who provide earpieces for the police service. They might be an alternative or plugfone also do a budget alternative which I might explore.

Aside all the good do you have anything bad to say about it. As far as mechanics or common problems? I am from the USA.
@RizwanMustafaTheMullerRider3 жыл бұрын
You're welcome. Generally the Japanese bikes are bullet proof, as long as it has been serviced regularly and well maintained. That being said, 20k miles means its around the valve clearance service mark. If its had it done by a main dealer then great, if it hasn't then youre probably looking at $1000 bill to get them checked and adjusted l. Iwouldnt trust anyone but a main dealer with the valves, these high performance bikes need specialist attention & warranty. Also be sure to check the fairings clips are all in order. They're thin bits of plastic that can break loose and leave you with gaps in fairing panels (I've got another video on that). Best of luck, they're amazing machine.
