The thing is picking a horse you think will win doesn't mean you have a greater chance over a long term of your selections being any better than if you just guessed. If it's not about value why are there value betters who make profits off that method, who find value bets not horses they think will most likely win ie always betting the favs, the guys completely wrong if you back what you fancy you're gonna be like all the other 99% long term betters who lose money

I rarely disagree with Big Mac but owners shouldnt care less what the betting public think or want .. A horse runs for the owner and the trainer and whether or not the horse has run around, if the owners want to run their horse whos entry fee they have paid, thats their choice The idea racing is run for punters is absurd

The bet at a loss punter’s haven’t a clue how difficult it is for some people to get a bet on, it should be a case of bookies either take bets off everyone or lose their licence.

this is wrong on so many levels. Value isn't picking a big price. You aren't getting value if your mo is ignoring the fav to back a 10-1. Value is getting a price that is greater than the selections true chance of winning. That is why bookmakers restrict people for showing, sometimes over 5 bets, that they have the knowledge to beat their markets. You will win long term doing that. This is horrendous advice, and i'm shocked to discover he runs a paid for service. Crikey.

'It's supposed to be a fair & clean sport...' Bookmaker Geoff Banks. Well that's a bit rich when bookmakers take a bet off punters & only after the bet has won do they ask for multiple pieces of information from said punters & refuse to payout in the interim. Bookmakers are turning into cartels. Get a BHA betting exchange in place with all the profits/commission going back into racing with vastly increased prize money as a result & watch the sport flourish in this country. The bookies can concentrate on their FOBTs & be recognised for what they largely are now, little casinos.

This man sells market movers. His latest series, oddschecker blues, has everyone laughing on X. He gets everything wrong, and keeps picking market movers. Sadly, his addiction has led to bad behaviour from Peter. Please don't hand him any money. It's all lies. If you do pay, and cancel, he takes more payments anyway and refuses to give it back unless an admin fee is paid.

On form, Pete? You sure? I may be mistaken, but haven't your paid tips been woeful lately? It's not like you to lie, unless charities or betting slips are involved. Are you going to tell KZbin why you've cowardly stopped posting your results on twitter?

The thing with this is the bookies are shuffling punter’s money about, so these “Pro punters” are just arguing about who takes the mug money. Shockingly the bookies want to keep it. These gobshites crying about the large firms aren’t crusaders, they are just pushing self interest.

Wolverhampton Race Course was a beautiful course until it was turned into a all weather course, when you attend a course with lush green turf, its so lovely, but looking out at a course that's grim to look at, takes a lot from attending.

I mainly bet on placed horses, I stopped betting on horse racing cause on this non-triers issue, especially on daily racing where prize money are low. Best things is bet on Big Horse Racing event like Randwick or Caufield in Australia where prize money could be $1million and placing odds are good

Words fail me. The worst take on value I've ever seen and the worst example used to justify it. Value is simple.... Are you getting better % than the starting book? Betting is mathematics. Your stake is numbers, your returns are numbers. The odds are decimals and fractions, you're wagering numbers on probability. It's mathematics. Value isn't getting the best price you can. If a horses true price should be 6-1, you aren't getting value by taking 4-1 when every bookmaker is 3-1. Total nonsense. You know what value is, you're just too thick to realise it. You batter early prices just to try and beat SP, you know that's relevant as you claim it as an impressive stat. Beat SP, you beat the odds, you beat the bookmaker. Unfortunately your method of doing that requires no racing knowledge, take 12-1 when it's 5-1 across the books and you'll have a fairly good chance of beating SP. That's why you won't be allowed to do that, especially on the dead night before markets. Good work to get a paid service because you are scarily misinformed.

Banks is so pius ! I cant imagine racing without old fashioned coups and plots. Its what draws most people in. It would be very sterile and much less exciting a sport if we had none of these gambles. I get quite pissed off with these bookies bellyaching about cops being landed. We dont hear from them when one goes astray ! more to the point if a bookie gets wind of a a horse not going well at home and the source is reliable, the first thing the bookie will do is extend the odds to get the majority of bets in his bag, If one looks like costing them they pour money onto the track to shrink the SP and in effect manipulate the market to minimise costs through liabilities.. Watch every horse shorten when one starts playing up so the R4 is greater etc etc.. Seems they can do what they like but they dont like it up them ..

So nice to listen to a bookmaker squeal. As for Banks' claim that he didn't lose on this gamble, you can hear the pain in every whingeing word. Tough on bookies, tough on the causes of bookies. Love it. More big gambles please!

Guys clueless. If you get the best price on a horse that's available.. Say 10/1 but its real chance in percentage terms is 8% then obviously over time you lose money pure and simple!

Betfair refused my bets because I lost too much on the slot machines ,they asked me to self exclude for a month from all betting on their exchange and slots which I agreed to ,but I asked them if i could just be excluded from the slots as that was where I was loosing 95% of my money ,my acct manager said just self exclude for one month then you will be ok to bet , I agreed then they told me I have to exclude for six months, and then I could bet again again I begged them to let me gamble just on the exchange betting which they said no just wait the six months .I did then they told me they didn't want my custom ,as they thought I was a problem gambler I then asked them to let me gamble on the exchange as I had a problem with the slot machine gambling, I told them they could set a limit what ever they wanted per week on my deposits ,They told me no after being a customer of theirs for 15 years .They had given me my own acct manager and took me to their hospitality suite at Manchester United FC . They kept phoning me up to see what I wanted put in my free Xmas hamper which I told them, only not to receive it when they closed my acct I never caused any trouble ,They wouldn't even let me deposit a few pounds a week on their exchange, after being told many that i was a valued customer I agreed I had a problem with the slot machines I told them the truth and was upfront with them ,but they banned me from the whole exchange They shut the door on me for ever ,you speak the truth and no one wants to hear it
