They can see all the cars have stopped, they can anticipate a blind spot ahead of them so they should slow down in order to stop in time should something come out that blind spot. But... I also see your point. It`s just that you don`t wanna cause a grid lock.

Until the oncoming driver hesitates right in the middle of maneuvering in front of you and slows down the flow of traffic almost to a dead stop on the highway and then the driver just looks at you like a dear in headlights because they don't know how to drive

Me and a group of friends drove over an hr to go to the beach. There are 3 cars. 2 of them were like Let’s Race!!! And both of them sped the whole way there and I went the speed limit the whole way…………………. We all got there at the same time 😂 once we had got into town we all hit traffic. Technically I won because I found parking first

Or, hear me out, if youre in the right hand lane on a freeway and people are merging onto said freeway, MERGE LEFT to let them on AHEAD of time. Literally the law to not slow down like that. Its up to you to merge over since you already should be going near the flow of traffic.

That works too, my exit was coming up though. You can’t tell from the video, but there was a little bit of traffic so mashing on the gas to get in front of them would have made me slam on my brakes right after.

If you slow down on the highway you're danger to the people behind you. The acceleration ramp is for them to get up to speed with traffic and then either slow down or speed up to merge with traffic safely.

Makes sense, if I had some close behind me I would not have slowed down. But I was in the slow lane getting off next exit so didn’t see the need to speed up just to slow down again 🤷🏽‍♂️

If they are jumping up to the correct speed and and merging from an on-ramp I will let them in, now if we are in traffic cause of construction and lanes are being closed and people are doing the last min lane jump, f that I will block all day long.

They really should change the law so that drivers are required to yield to the vehicle merging instead of the merging vehicle needing to yield. It just makes no sense.

@@ITS_T_STAXX the people already on a free way have clear vision of people getting on an on ramp, it is in front of them. People trying to merge on have to look behind and try and judge distance/speed of other cars whilst also looking ahead so they don't crash .. it's insane

They can also speed up and seize the gap… if I slowed my semi down every time some idiot didn’t know how to merge properly I’d be slowing an entire lane down for as long as it takes to slow down and get back up to speed with 80000 lbs
