The Bible is teaching us to love and trust God to love our neighbours. We will gain salvation if we love our neighbours as God has encouraged us! Jesus had come to tell us to love our neighbours as a sign of our love for God!!

Pastor, you are inferring many things that the scripture does not say. There is no indication Thomas was shirking a responsibility. Nowhere does the scripture say this was a ‘leadership church meeting’. Once again you guys do nothing but make people worse than they did before they came into your church. You talk about edifying yet not one person hearing this is edified.

The Holy Spirit IS alive still and active even today, He did not cease! I’ve experienced the touch of the Holy Spirit along with many other Christians. The Holy Spirit is part of the trinity - God, the Son - Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. To say the Holy Spirit ceased, would be saying that God is dead. This church is not led by the Holy Spirit of God. You are leading people astray from the Truth of God. King David worshiped with instruments. The Holy Spirit was given to all - both men and women.

It would serve all preachers of the gospel well, to never forget their time in the pews... I remember H.D. saying many years ago that people go and get more degrees than a thermometer and letters after their names, and stand and preach and the common man doesn't have a clue what they are talking about... Intellectual arrogance will never save souls... Great sermon with great small lessons within...

At about 7:00 you mention John Wesley. Are you aware that he was Arminian, and spoke out against Calvinism? Additionally, your understanding of Calvinism is quite off. Specifically regarding free will. I am including an excerpt from the 1689 London Baptist Confession, which outlines exactly what was believed by Calvinist Baptists, and very closely if not identically mirrors Presbyterian doctrine. Please double check these things before you spread false information. 1.God hath endued the will of man with that natural liberty and power of acting upon choice, that it is neither forced, nor by any necessity of nature determined to do good or evil. ( Matthew 17:12; James 1:14; Deuteronomy 30:19 ) 2.Man, in his state of innocency, had freedom and power to will and to do that which was good and well-pleasing to God, but yet was unstable, so that he might fall from it. ( Ecclesiastes 7:29; Genesis 3:6 ) 3.Man, by his fall into a state of sin, hath wholly lost all ability of will to any spiritual good accompanying salvation; so as a natural man, being altogether averse from that good, and dead in sin, is not able by his own strength to convert himself, or to prepare himself thereunto. ( Romans 5:6; Romans 8:7; Ephesians 2:1, 5; Titus 3:3-5; John 6:44 ) 4.When God converts a sinner, and translates him into the state of grace, he freeth him from his natural bondage under sin, and by his grace alone enables him freely to will and to do that which is spiritually good; yet so as that by reason of his remaining corruptions, he doth not perfectly, nor only will, that which is good, but doth also will that which is evil. ( Colossians 1:13; John 8:36; Philippians 2:13; Romans 7:15, 18, 19, 21, 23 ) 5.This will of man is made perfectly and immutably free to good alone in the state of glory only. ( Ephesians 4:13 )

Why did Jesus turn Simon change his name to Rock?
@PreacherMattyT3 жыл бұрын
The Greek word Jesus refers to Peter as “rock” is Petros, which means “small pebble.” The church was not founded on a small pebble that can be destroyed. The feminine gender “Petra” for “rock” means “solid rock ledge, firm foundation ... a rock that cannot be moved.” That is the Truth... that is Jesus, the Word . The church is not founded upon Peter, but the truth confessed by Peter, “you are the Christ, the Son of the Living God.” When Jesus then states, “I will give you the keys to the Kingdom” that does not mean Simon Peter is the gatekeeper ... it means he was to preach that sermon in Acts 2 to “open” the church, the kingdom of Christ, the body of Christ. The “church” the ekklesia, the called out obedient body of Christ. See, that day they heard the words of Peter and the apostles being preached, that they crucified the Son of God, and their hearts were pricked. They were convicted. “Men and brethren, what shall we do?” “Repent snd let everyone of you be baptized in the name of Jesus for the remission of your sins and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” Acts 2:37-38. Great sermon here ... he preaches the truth. Study the Word to see .
