Watching this again 10 years later. Still an awesome trip that I look back on often. I noticed the music cutting out in some section. I believe that’s due to Copyright claims. All of the audio I used was public domain. It’s a bummer.

Wow! I was born in Bloomington and lived there for awhile and still have family there. I wonder where this is. Thanks for sharing. I know it gets very cold. My grandparents house is left abandoned in Helmsburg which is a little ways from Bloomington ...wish I could go back and see it. They passed away in the 80s. My grandpa made the concrete picnic table that looks like a tree is growing up against it. Hope you check it out.

I was born in Bloomington and I live in Nashville. Where in Helmsburg is your grandparents house?
@sewndebisdream695310 ай бұрын
@christymckee8133 It's on the main road going to Bloomington. Between 1st and 2nd street across from there...(Its been a long time since I've been there.) My sister thought the house was to be torn down but she was wrong. The house has signs in the yard saying it has been left to natural wildlife. The house has signs that says condemned. She says the whole property is like the woods have taken over. I thought maybe the state or city would take over the property but I guess since after my Grandparents passed away the property wasn't given to anyone and was just abandoned. Not sure...

@@sewndebisdream6953 That would be State Road 45. Im trying to think of what place that might be
@sewndebisdream695310 ай бұрын
Yes,it's on the main road through Helmburg on the right. There's a concrete picnic table in the yard that trees are growing up around it. It's a two story home with a basement, the house is white with teal green trim.

@@InterestingTedI’m glad you had a great time! I live in Melbourne, it’s a bit less hectic than Sydney, but Sydney is definitely the place to be! Im curious to hear what you think of our national parks? I absolutely love your parks in the U.S!

@@adamp9365I loved your parks around Sydney! The scenery was just beautiful everywhere and the animals were so unique to what I’m used to. The terrain wasn’t nearly as flat as I’d expected either. This trip was quite a few years ago, but I still think about it often and I have some photos of it on a digital frame at work that I see regularly. Definitely an amazing experience all around.

Very interesting to see the lake bed. When I was a student I spent a lot of time at Griffy paddling around in a canoe doing lake patrol and walking the trails for the parks and rec department. My girlfriend, now my wife, did the boat rental. Would go back and do it again in a heartbeat. Best job ever.
