If you use the plain straight pins( without the little plastic heads), you can put the iron down directly on top of the pins without worrying about melting the plastic…. Still time-consuming, but makes the job a bit easier.
@manizhehstudio28 күн бұрын
You can definitely use plain straight pins to avoid the issue of melting plastic heads. It’s a great tip for certain projects where you need to press directly over the pins. While it’s still a bit time-consuming, it can help speed things up when you don’t want to remove pins every time you iron. Thanks for sharing this helpful trick!

Wow I do this a lot differently 😭 I just cut a chunk out the middle, leaving less than an inch and hand stitch praying it stays together 🤣 Did one for Halloween three years ago and the only thing I didn’t do was fit the waist
@manizhehstudioАй бұрын
Thanks for watching! You could definitely try different techniques depending on the look you want, but cutting out a chunk and hand stitching can be tricky! If you find yourself having to do it again, you might want to consider reinforcing the seams with some extra fabric or interfacing to make sure everything holds together better.

What’s the name of the iron used 🙏
@manizhehstudioАй бұрын
The iron I’m using is the Rowenta Perfect Steam. It’s great for chiffon or any thin fabrics, as it can steam without even touching the fabric. It also has excellent temperature control and steam options. Let me know if you have any other questions!

@manizhehstudioАй бұрын
Narrowing elastic helps adjust the fit of garments or accessories for more comfort and precision. It's useful when the original elastic is too wide for the project, or when a more delicate look or fit is desired, especially for children's clothing, lingerie, or fitted areas like waistbands and cuffs. By narrowing it, you maintain flexibility while achieving a cleaner, more refined finish. Thanks for watching the video.

What type of sewing machine do you muse and would you recommend anything better?
@manizhehstudioАй бұрын
I currently use Janome and a Juki serger, and they've been great for my sewing needs. If you're looking for something more advanced, I'd recommend considering a Juki industrial serger, which offers more features such as advanced stitch options, faster speeds, or heavy-duty performance. It really depends on what kind of projects you work on, so choosing a machine that suits your specific needs is key!

The beginning of the video was very helpful. As she progressed the video was speeded up so that it was hard to follow the process. At the end of sewing the lining to the sleeve, a lot of the activity was outside the camera and going so fast with the speed up of the camera I lost track and could not tell what she was sewing at the end. I think she was tacking something, but who knows? Even I know that if you pull one thread the entire buttonhole will unravel.

Thank you for your feedback! I’m glad you found the beginning of the video helpful. I apologize for the parts that were difficult to follow due to the speed and camera angles. I’ll make sure to slow down and keep everything in frame in future videos, especially during critical steps like sewing the lining to the sleeve. Your input is really valuable, and I’ll work on making my tutorials clearer and easier to follow. Thanks again for watching!

I’m such a newbie that I slowed down the video and still couldn’t see exactly what was being done. 🤦🏻♀️ Lol I know the gist of it and have altered many things (with degrees of success), but I finally found a bathing suit I love and need about 2” taken in from the crotch. May be time to call a friend who knows what they’re doing! 😊 Thank you!

Hey, no worries at all! Alterations can be tricky, especially with something as specific as taking in a bathing suit. Sometimes, even slowing down the video doesn't help. If you've tried altering things before and aren't sure about this one, calling a friend with more experience sounds like a great idea. Good luck, and I hope your suit turns out perfect! I’m sorry to hear about your experience with that dress. Pleats can be so tricky to maintain, and it’s frustrating when they don’t hold up after washing. It’s understandable to feel discouraged, but it’s great that you donated the dress-hopefully, it found a new home. Thank you for sharing your story!

If the snap is loose or detached, you might need to sew it back on securely. If it's not staying closed, you could try adjusting the tension by gently bending the prongs with pliers. If it's damaged beyond repair, you may need to replace it with a new snap. Thanks, Manizheh
