Shit I remember when I moved outta the city, around late 89,early 90, I moved to Brookfield. I would go to Kawanas park to play bball there, and everyday there was like 30+ 12 st Players who hung out at that park. Then there was also Players in LaGrange, and Country. But by 93/94 the GDz moved into lil Africa in LaGrange, 22 boys into Countryside, and 26 into Brookfield. And the Players were deep AF, but they just couldn't keep up with all the Folks moving into these areas. I remember RIP Grizz,and Wolf, sat me down at a picnic table, and wanted me to flip. They wanted me to be a shorty leader, because I was in grade school. I just remember them being cool AF.

Mr. Da Poet its Louis. I am white man who grew up on Taylor and Bell streets back in 1988. I was 11 years old back then. Do you know anything about that neighborhood? What gang controls that area now. A lot of my Italian brothers and sisters dominated that area back then but many Spanish people lived there too. Some Irish people were there too. I didn't see gangs there but many Italian men and Spanish men had clubs to beat down anyone that came into the neighborhood and started trouble. lol Us kids at the time would light fireworks off and aim them at any grown men who walked or stood on the street corners. lol We used bottle rockets. lol We played tag in groups of about 30 to 40 kids and ran all over the streets within a four block radius. Ran into abandoned buildings and jumped rooftop to rooftop while playing tag. Yeah, my childhood in Chicago was fun. Only me and this other Spanish kid was brave enough to jump from rooftop to rooftop. We were three to four stories up. The memories brother never end.
