Very good work. I did the adjustment to my FX691V and it sounds good at idle and mid throttle but has some valve chatter at full throttle. Do you know what might be causing this. Don't want my engine going boom 💥
@Brotherslawn23
@Brotherslawn23 Ай бұрын
Typically you hear them hot at idle. The good news is the valve lash being out won’t really cause any major failures. You can bend the push rods but not a big deal at all. The older fx and fh engines were bad about the rocker perch bolt backing out but doesn’t seem to be an issue any more.
@shawndubay4050
@shawndubay4050 Ай бұрын
@Brotherslawn23 do the rockers get slop in them. As far as I know they are the original rockers that were installed at the factory. Just trying to target and replace the parts that might be worn out.

I removed the blade. Placed the 2 bolts in the holes like you. Tightened the piss out of the 2 bolts and PB Blaster. Got a 5/8 x 2" bolt, put it in the hole, dropped the spindle to the deck and used an air hammer to drive the pulley out.

I will check mine this weekend when I have time to get a good multimeter. I have burnt up 2 pto switches now. Mower was running great both times and I got about to the same part of the yard and blew a 20 amp fuse and the switches won’t do anything anymore. Leaning towards clutch being bad but I’ll test it this weekend. It still drove fine after I replaced the fuses, just zero PTO switch or blades turning on. Anymore advice?

My problem is i start the mower, pull the pto switch to engage the blade and when i do that it locks up, it dont just shut the mower off, its like its got a beake that stops everything motor and engine, im wondering if there is some safety deal that makes it brake the motor so hard to stop everything in half a sec, do you know or ever heard of something like that, a emergency stop that hits that hard
@Brotherslawn23
@Brotherslawn23 3 ай бұрын
There’s no brake on the blades persay if the engine and all is stalling out most likely you have a bad spindle or a bad pulley, clutch etc. If it’s turning the engine off like you’re turning the key off it’s probably a safety switch of the control module. What model is your unit?

I got a 2021 scag tiger cat 2. Having starter issue. Turn key and it will click like starter is hitting fly wheel but won’t turn over. After a few try’s it will turn over and start. When it turns over, the crank speed is normal so I don’t think it’s the battery. Maybe solenoid?
@Brotherslawn23

How many hours? Check the voltage coming into the signal wire on the bottom of the starter the battery and main starter wire should be around 12 volts 12.6 is a fully charged battery. Scag has a relay kit you can install if your getting low voltage to the signal wire. Should be within a 1 volt or so of the battery voltage. Most that have that issue with a good battery are around 10 volts.
