I just realized how long I've been dreaming about someday visiting Mt. Hood (20+yrs)..... might be time to pull the trigger. What is the prime spring corn month? may, June, July?

Skied it twice, but more straight down towards the stream vent vs ski-traversing, but it's alllll goot. Funny how you can feel granites effect kick in for real over 50 degrees... the tug.

7:05: not very smart at all. You see a crossing your path and what do you do? You go straight on it. You could have stopped, the smartest thing to do. You could have gone on the left accelerating to overpass it. At 0,1 or 0,2 seconds, that rock would have hit your ankle. Ok your shoes are heavy plastic, but could have done some damage though. Is it a smart idea to finish in the middle of nowhere with a damaged ankle? When all you had to do it so stop, ski on the left accelerating or ski on the right to let it pass. You do nothing and, as usual in those cases, the probability that a rock hits you is close to zero but then is happening here. Thanks for the ride. :) Hope to see more. ;)

Foolish. White River Canyon is not a ski slope. No rational winter sports enthusiast should ever think that slope has any attractive skiable parts. The rock fall everywhere? All that rock got there by falling. you are there to get killed by falling rocks? The crevasses opening up. There are immense voids beneath the glacier waiting to consume any idiot willing to risk going there. Bad idea posting this video. No disclaimer that this is the most dangerous place in Oregon? it is a death trap... not good skiing.

Looks like a fun run! Coming up on rocks unexpectedly (or not realizing how 'shallow' they are to being exposed like around 0:22 ) is one thing I find sketchy in retrospect after certain runs. Did you know the rocks tapered off like that already or just sent it through there and it worked out? Another hazard I've found is 'ice boulders' at the bottom of some areas, in flat light... especially if it's coming out of a steep run and you're cruising... I'm trying to get better about planning my run ahead of time, but when youre in the thick of it sometimes it's hard to slow down and survey.. Anyway GG hope we all get another good snow year in 2023-2024!

It's called cascade cement, people who say concrete are so silly. You just gotta pay attention to the weather and conditions, because there are good powder days.
