And ofcourse in India all the british structure made up of natural stone not a artificial one. And because of natural stone structural all the british made buildings are still strong and surviving from last 20 decades. No competition with natural stones
@muditagrawal1524Ай бұрын
Natural sandstones are more durable and have long life rather than artificial porcelain tiles. Porcelain tiles are not suitable for climate they can't even handle 200° temperature. Its very difficult to survive in such huge temperature. Porcelain are totally fake. Natural always be natural.

What is the usually labour price to lay these I have had some scary quotes. Cheers
@foreststoneukАй бұрын
It's pretty time consuming to lay Vs something like a block paver but it's much longer lasting. I'll as some of the landscapers we deal with and give you a rough ball-park to help you gauge it.

Having asked around (and this does depend heavily on what region you live in as costs of everything very by region) I think anywhere from £240 to £350m2+VAT (given good access) is a good guide price (including materials) for a driveway build with stone setts like this. The base should be minimum 200mm Compressed Type 1 but preferably concrete if you want good longevity and this sort of base construction and prep costs a fair bit. Obviously there are a lot of variables like top surface material, pointing material, access for machines etc... but hopefully this gives you an idea!
@Ben-nb4qrАй бұрын
@@foreststoneuk Thank you very much. That has been very helpful. Had a quote in the midlands for £200/sqm including materials. Will probably go with that having heard the other quotes. Cheers

Really nice looking patio tiles. Though a big styling mistake people make is have a grey base and furnishing it with grey too. Folks, grey goes well with everything except itself.
@foreststoneukАй бұрын
Yeah I agree - too much grey is not good. Nice to add some pops of colour here and there!

@joefowler96003 ай бұрын
So is this right, compacted 200mm minimum type 1 sub base, 30mm (4:1 grit sand / cement) minimum bed and bonding slurry on the back of the slabs? Thanks
@foreststoneuk3 ай бұрын
Yeah minimum 200mm compacted type 1 but it does depend on the ground. On something like clay you probably want concrete instead with expansion joins when needed. Also is good to bear in mind the weight of the vehicles and how many of them will be using the drive. More vehicles and more weight would need a stronger base that is potentially thicker or with re-enforcing mesh etc... Cheers!

Does limestone paving work best in conjunction with building sand and very little cement as a mortar bed as opposed to limestone dust and plenty of cement (4/1 ratio)? Looks like a really nice product, i would love a paved area like this in my garden. Nice tidy work
@foreststoneuk3 ай бұрын
Sharp Sand with cement is the best bedding mix for natural stone paving. More strength and structure to it. These days it's advisable to prime the backs of the slabs with a priming slurry too. Take a look at our website when the time comes for you to renovate your garden - you can easily order samples etc... Cheers!
@benjip553 ай бұрын
Hi, great video. Is the same theory true for concrete slabs? Could you use these for a driveway if it was laid on a concrete slab?
@foreststoneuk3 ай бұрын
Yeah same theory could be applied to any paving material really as long as it was suitable for use as your top surface and you used a grout that would also hold up for use on a drive. Cheers.

If it's neat product onto grass it will kill it for sure. If it's pretty watered down it might not harm it much really.

mate i have 3 piece in one box, wood plank type, with 3 different signs on them. One has an arrow pointing on it's length ,the other across, and one has a "1" on it. Confused.
@foreststoneuk Жыл бұрын
sounds bizarre!! Not normal that. It might be possible they started off as one tile and the factory have cut them thinner. This happens in the cheaper factories if they want to create a 1200x300 but only have a 1200x600 mould. So they make the 12x6 and cut it in half after production.
