How many hours you have on your generator? I converted my EU3000 to run on propane. It worked fine up about 600 hours, then stopped. Took it to a dealer, the valves needed to be reset. And then every 150 hours needed to be taken to a dealer for valves reset. I got tired of taking it to a dealer, at about 900 hours switched it to run on gas. It has almost 2000 hours now with zero issues. A tech told me that to run it on propane I need different valves.
@SuperRobkar2 ай бұрын
@@andreyanderson8798 as long as you run the propane lean you should be fine, it’s when the propane is running rich it will burn things , i.e valve and or piston. Exact opposite of running gasoline. Quick tip: never turn on a propane tank fast. That will cause its safety valve to seize or freeze. You just barely crack it open until you can hear the gas moving. Then wait a couple seconds and open it another half turn and start your generator. Once your generator is running, then open the valve several more turns.
@macmcleod11883 ай бұрын
Be aware that the quantity of gas in a propane tank can vary by where you buy it. If the tank is about $20 it probably has 3.5 gal. If the tank is about $15.00 it probably has around 2.5 to 3 gallons. If you go to a propane refill station, you'll pay $3.75 cents per gallon. If you have an actual 30 gallon tank in your backyard that they must come out and refill, it's going to run roughly 5 days.

Get on natty gas and go whole house commercial for longer term outages and reliability (9 to 16k investment)
@macmcleod1188Ай бұрын
@@robertkeller9828 need to consider that running a generator and only adding oil for a week is only going to take about a third of its life. And since you're talking about a $500 object, you're only talking about spending an extra $130. And since generators last for about 2000 hours you're reducing the life to maybe 1300 to 1400 hours by changing the oil less frequently. Meanwhile changing the oil frequently is going to cost you about $5 extra every time you change the oil. And 26 oil changes is $130.

The results after 4 months since the first application are surprisingly good. His lawn was 25% grass and 75% weeds and is now the opposite and he probably should apply a straight fertilizer next. To fully recover his lawn I think he will have to repeat this next season.

@@SuperRobkar Northern Louisiana here. We had nice spring rainfall. His lawn is 75% recovered after two Triple Action applications. While still a ways to go, I was pretty surprised at this off the shelf product. Next season he will need a heavy pre-emergent dose and heavy fertilizer dose at some point, in addition to 1 or even 2 applications again of Triple Action. Based on this experience, maybe a reasonable alternative for lawns in poor shape is 2 full applications of Triple Action two months apart as the instructions allow, plus common sense of a lawn fert and a pre-emergent at the right times.

Does the constant power cut / power on cycling damage the mini split over time? I would think that they're not designed for constant power loss like that, especially since you don't appear to be performing a graceful shutdown. I think I'd use a Zendure or Ecoflow or something in UPS mode - Have solar DC input and house AC input both going to the Zendure, and Zendure out to the AC unit. The Zendure is smart enough to charge enough to balance the input, or you could put your cutover switch between the house and the zendure, ensuring that it charges with only solar when you choose. That way the AC unit never sees a power loss at all. Hope that makes sense, it was kind of stream of consciousness.

I just had a 2 zone (18 & 12) 30k btu (condenser) mini-split heat pump installed and I'm seeing similar power usage values. The most I've ever seen it draw was 10a for a short period of time, 8a typical when it's really hot out and both heads are blasting, but even with that current moduates up and down constantly. Mostly between 2 and 4 when everything is cooled down. It's amazing how little power it can draw keeping 2 floors cool. I'm using the same power meter as you and I also see what I would consider very low power factors. I'm typically seeing 0.25 when idle, 0.6 when running slowly to maintain temp, and about 0.85 when running full current. I was concerned about these values but your unit confirms this is apparently how these systems consume power.
