The thumbnail says that you can get the value of pi from a calculator. That is not true, because pi is irrational, and a calculator cannot give you an infinite number of decimal places. And even if it could, there is not enough time for the user to retrieve an infinite number of decimal places.

very true. I agree with you. It depends on the level of students and how you approach the concept. Introducing this new concept of pi with grade 8 students is quite difficult. In the third chapter of Grade 8, we introduce the concept of irrational numbers. To explain irrational numbers like square root of 2, we usually use a calculator to show them its decimal value and tell them that even the calculator cannot give you its exact value since it is irrational. But you can get its value to some extent using a calculator. This is the reason why I said using a calculator to get the value of pi. But I agree with you that I should correct what has been written in the thumbnail. Thanks a lot.
