I have always used the standup charger... on all my radios. USB C is nice to have... i guess. But it doesnt mean the 50A is better than the 52A. lol. and I have both.

I have the ID52A because of it's Bluetooth and Color Screen, I tuned off the Back light of the Screen, its a Transflex Screen that can seen in Bright Day light,

Requesting retransmission of missing blocks would be hard to implement as sending a pictures is often one to many. But if the sending station sends the picture multiple times the radio will fill in the missing blocks and only store the image one.

I Wonder if they will ever make id-50a with a micro USB. That would let me plug it into my charger in the garage. 👍

Neither radio comes preprogrammed. If you don't want to do any programming, I would recommend finding someone who has the same radio and cloning theirs.

Is the battery life noticeably better with the ID-50 in comparison to the ID-52?

It wasn't huge but enough that it was noticeable.

I still don't understand why Icom puts so many different portable radio's on the market in a short period of time. For the ID-52 you need a 3300mAh battery (aliexpress, 36 euro), otherwise you will have to use a full battery twice a day (1880 mAh battery is not enough for 10 hours). I live in the Netherlands and have the id-52A & id-52A. The radios are nice, I have 4 spare batteries 1880mAh.
@JaxRange Жыл бұрын
Other than having USB C the only other advantage of the ID-50 was better battery life.

Will a Micro USB to USB-C adaptor (in a USB-C cable), work in the 52 for charging and data transfer?

How well do the modern HF radio (7300 & 991a) deal with or hold up in very humid environment?
@JaxRange3 жыл бұрын
While there are no environmental specifications listed in the IC 7300 manual it does contain the following statements regarding operating environment: NEVER expose the transceiver to rain, snow or any liquids. NEVER leave the transceiver in areas with temperatures below -10°C (+14°F) or above +60°C (+140°F) for mobile operations. NEVER place the transceiver in excessively dusty environments. This could damage the transceiver. A specific humidity level is never mentioned. My biggest concern would be rapidly moving the transceiver from cool air to a warm and humid environment where the moisture could condense on radio.
