This video was perfect for my 2000 Fleck 560SE. Turned out the filter screen was filled up wit small particles from the brine tank. The water to the brine would fill fine but when the brine rinse was taking place it had a slower flow. Thanks for making this video for us DYIers.

The small white "flow disperser" shown at 6:02 is part no. 13497 and is labeled "Disperser, Air" in the service manual. I pulled this out in order to remove a few specs of black rubber, but then it broke apart while I was cleaning it. This was an unexpected setback, and I now have to wait a week or so for a new one before the softener can be put back in service. Just a warning to other viewers - this part is very fragile!

I have a 255. The drain leaks a good bit of water constantly, even when not in regeneration mode. Could this be worn o-rings on the Backwash flow control part?

Totally unusable instruction, as in paper version what i received yesterday with this unit - choose what you want to choose - that i know..., but nobody from Pentair corporation cant explain whas is a best set for example for my parameters...? I am dissapointed and will not choose again this stuff.

Hello, Just one comment on the sequence of the depressurization procedure; wouldn't you need to turn the water supply off first, then manually cycle the controller? This would alleviate the pressure in the system. I performed the sequence as indicated in the video and experienced a burst of pressure while removing the flow meter cap...made a big a splash :)

My unit is a 263, the re fill flow cap looks nothing like yours w the checkball nor does it look like the one w the "washer". Mine has three slits for flow. Do you know if I'm missing the checkball or do I have the wrong refill part? Thanks, great video.

I don't have a button in the small bass piece with the white holder. Is that normal and if not, how do I know when one goes in there?? That big plastic piece has 2.4GPM written on the outside. Not sure if that helps.

great video, clear and concise...it will help me tackle my 5600 SXT that stopped using salt and it keeps putting too much water in the brine tank after a regen cycle.

I sure wish these kind of videos would show repairs under real world conditions. Everything in this video is clean and accessible and it doesn’t reflect the working conditions that people like myself will encounter when they try to do it.

When the valve is older the sticker might not be readable to match flow numbers at a glance.

The brine tank quit draining after inadvertently unplugging the softener for a two week period. I called a local expert referred by Angie (list). An inexperienced tech fiddle futzed around for over an hour and then recommend replacing my softener for a cost of over $6,000. He left and I continued to pursue a DIY fix. Called the Pentair Fleck tech line and was pointed back to google to do a finer search. “Fleck 5810 injector” to be exact. Found this KZbin video and in the name of Jesus! I am saved $6,000!!!!!! Thank you!

I had to disconnect my 760 series and the adapter plug to the wall outlet broke. I removed the the other end from the control valve. The new adapter plug arrived now I can't find where I connect the end into the control valve. Can you please help, thank you

Surely the meter should be replaced only when the magnet test does NOT register flow…?

The flow control under the white plastic piece you pulled out with a number on it well mine doesn’t have that rubber washer or flow control. I’m having g an issue with no suction on my brine rinse instead it’s pushing water at a good heavy flow. Is this missing piece my problem?
