A fantastiv video of a very nostalgic bus reminding me of just how beasty these babies were. From a Scotland perspective, the Dart Pointers just had the edge over the Dart ALX200s as to which had a larger prescence in the fleet. Me being me, I was not taking sides because I loved having joyrides on both! 🤣

Going by the looks of the tight turns, tight squeeze going forward as well as the hill climb - could almost be seen as single deck/double deck bus version of the 10K! Know what I mean?😂

I think these new Diamonds are an example of Expectation vs Reality. They expected them to be much better than the B5LH's but they are somehow worse than a Hybrid. I don't expect these to last as long as the Hybrids

As for the North East, all 4 here will be withdrawn and where they will go is uncertain as for others elsewhere id assume they'll be still going

I remember the Scottish Trident ALX400s (specifically in Fife) when they first came out of the Factory, I think it was the Falkirk one and was very impressed from the get go! During the Hunting Stripes era, They were absolutely spectactular looking and equally beasty with a no surrender attitude, no matter what the weather was. Between them and the Leyland/Volvo Olympians, it was impossible to pick out one favourite because I loved them all! Correct me if I'm wrong but the Trident ALX400s will be very sorely missed, with a lot of broken hearts for certainly most of us.

Taking all operators, we still have a handful left that I’m aware of, one with JH, these 4 with SC, 2 with Northstar and 6 with Arriva Durham with B7TL bodywork. However the SC ones swill probs get withdrawn and the remaining Durham ones are due to get replaced with either ex-Blyth NK57s or Electroliners. Redcar had a few from Durham I think but they all got withdrawn being replaced with ex-ashington 72 plate MMCs. There is also an ex-stagecoach Lancashire alx400 trident which was donated to a police station in Teeside if I remember correctly. There are probs a couple more with independents but I’m not sure. Also I think Arriva had way more back in the day, both B7TL and DB250.

Yes JH have one for Sunderland University, Stagecoach ones will be withdrawn whether to be replaced is unsure, Arriva's are to be replaced by Electrics as part of greener transport and so
