VERY comfortable great riding trike! We drove over 800 miles to go see it and ride it. 95% of all trikes I've seen, ridden don't fit me. I have had 5 hip replacements and my femur removed and replaced with a Ti rod so can not squat down easily. It is very difficult if not impossible for me to get out of a low sitting trike. Rode a Ti Fly with 20" wheels in front and a Scorpion FS 26 and needed help to get out of those trikes. With the Triot I can get in and out easy peasy. Great ride great suspension went down a set of stairs with it.

How rugged is it? What is the gear/shifting like with the belt drive? How is it on steep hills and with towing a trailer? I completed a 6 month, 7 state, 4,300-mile ride and am considering a ride around the entire perimeter of the U.S. I rode an HP Velotechnik trike but am considering other brands. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jXfcXqKvZa2drrM

Good question. The suspension system is designed with high precision and needs to be checked periodically to make sure everything is still tight. Other than that it is a fairly low-maintenance trike. The Rohloff and Nuvinci internally geared hubs are extremely rugged and need almost no maintenance. Rohloff recommends changing their oil about every 5,000 miles, something you can do with their oil-change kit. The chain running inside the frame is a special extra-hard self-lubricating chain that has a life of 30k-50k miles. The belt does not need lubrication and lasts 2-4x longer than a standard chain (and it doesn't stretch). The brake and shifting cables will stretch, as is normal, but we have barrel adjusters on all cables for easy fine tuning. We would be happy to address any specific concerns you may have. Please contact us at [email protected].

A really beautiful, high end trike. I wish I could afford one! The only question I would have is whether conventional bike shops could work on it, with the belt drive, hydraulics, etc. Otherwise, really looks wonderful.

Thank you. Conventional bike shops will be able to work on the trike. The belt drive is becoming more common in bicycles, especially on ebikes, and hydraulic brakes are very common. There are some parts that the shop would need to buy from us if a replacement is needed and we are always here to help them. We have two certified bike mechanics with extensive experience working full time for us who are available for questions and support.

@@triottrikes7531 I hope you're right, because the trike is really beautiful and obviously a technical marvel. I just have a hard time imagining a small town USA bike shop working on it. Too many advanced systems hugely different from those on standard machines. I think a lot of snobs in the bike community will make fun of the look of this trike, but I think it's great. I would hesitate to plunk down the moola, though, even if I had that much to spend!

@@gmaneis I've seen them and ridden them, awesome trikes! Any true real bike mechanic could work on i. There are so many hydraulic brakes on bicycles today. it's really a no big deal. If you buy the derailleur model that isn't problem, a rear derailleur is the same on a trike as a bike. Even a home mechanic can figure out this trike really not much difference from a bike today. Many suspended bikes have hydraulic /air forks/shocks, so that is the same on this trike.
