Completely agree. I've been running Tesoros a long time, and i still have the Bandido and Cortes I bought new. In iron, theyre hard to beat. I must say, an F75 or the original Red Racer are great in iron too, especially with a 5" coil. Just ignore the guessmeter and listen to what the audio is telling you.

I have a silver u max the one with push button pinpoint and I made a killing off it I’d go to parks heavily hitted by other people detecting high doller metal detectors I remember one guy even telling me I all ready found it all and me saying right on I hit the ground with in fifteen min of me detecting I went home quick cus I was asstaic I found a lady’s gold 18k lip brand watch the way it came out looked fake cus it was to dam shiny. Had a egale hallmark stamp on it very next day decided to hit it again in the am and that same guy was out there I showed him and his mouth dropped he was useing a fisher gold bug 2 and wasn’t able to hit it was a good 4 to five inches and my silver saber hit it good I learned to set my dics just below the 4 mark and gold been popping up left and right for me I recently sold my minelab vanquish 540 that was my upgrade now I’m pulling out the good old Tesoro that detector I had going on 26 years and it still going strong it’s a brand that I can count on cus it’s found me count loads of money

Thabks for your review, im getting ready for this big dig in missouri in april and im taking two of my detectors with, one is the ninelab equinox 600 which is a great machine but am also taking my Tesiro Vaquero with. I can already hear people laughing at my Tesoro but thry can laugh all they want. It has amazing discrimination , proba ly the best discrimnation of any detectors i know and also gets great depth. Now my actual plans are during the regular hunt i will pribably use the minelab a lot but when it comes to the seeded hunt im pulling out the Vaquero. I am able to turn the discrimination up to only dig the good tone and the rest of the jubk wont even set it off. Thanks for your thoughts on Tesoro you hit the nail on the head, and by the way the 160.00 detector you talked about is the Tesoro Compodre. It to is an awesome little machine.

Ibonly started detecting in 2023, first detector was the sinplex, sold it for a legend, and now added a deus, so ive only used digital detectors Ive thought about picking up an analog machine, the cheapest one is the boutnt hunter tracker iv but im unsure if its even a good machine, ive seen other bounty hunters give foil a iron tone I saw some videos on the fisher cz21 and it looks like a great machine, but i dont want to spend $2000 on an analog machine, plus its meant for diving in salt water, not sure its be a killer in the parks i search

I used to detect in the 70s & 80s .. due to work and other things.. I sold my Fisher 1265x and C Scope.. I came back to the Hobby a couple of years ago and purchased a Digital Fisher ... I sold it after a couple of months.. I just couldn't get on with at all... I now have an old Fisher and Garrett.. I will now have a look at Tesoro.. I'm in the UK, plenty of clay soil where I live.. hard digging in summer!👍 😊🐕🧙‍♂️

Analog v Digital I'm in 95% agreement with your Opinion (drawing from your analog v Digital experience). I have been a Multi-Line Dealer since 1983 starting with Compass and in 1984 forward became authorized to sell White's, Teknetics, Tesoro, Garrett, Bounty Hunter etc. BEFORE becoming a Professional Dealer, I owned at least 15 Metal Detectors which I purchased from MY local Dealer (Ron, from R&B) who I would constantly bounce questions off of which established my foundation of understanding. My FIRST Tesoro was the ORIGINAL Cortes which was developed by Tesoro's founder and Chief Engineer; Jack Gifford (who worked for Bounty Hunter, Part owner of C&G etc.) The two popular Motion Metal Detectors at the time were the 6000 Series 1 and Bounty Hunter Red Baron. Jack who had his finger prints in the development of the Red Baron introduced his first Motion Model called the Cortes of which I still own. The advantage over the competition is that the Cortes could achieve its maximum performance without a FAST sweep needed to detect the targets beyond 4" and the sweep speed required was almost ultra slow. AND the Target Response was so Analog Smooth over the Coins and Rings, you just knew you had an interesting target worth going after. IN ADDITION, the Cortes employed the more common TR Disc Mode which I am to this day a big fan of and like both Modes, the TR mode was very easy to control the threshold (back ground hum) thanks to its well designed Sensitivity Control Jack engineered, superior to other MFG. Now, there STILL is one Mfg that incorporates Analog and that is Tarsacci out of Merced, CA. The owner, Dimeter Gargov, has over 25 years of engineering and loves to Metal Detect. While working for Fisher Research in Los Banos, CA. he developed the Gold Strike, Coin Strike and Coin ID. A few years ago he developed the all new Tarsacci MDT 8000 with a Patented Circuit (Adjustable Salinity Balance) utilizing a HYBRID Analog-Digital Circuit. Currently it is my #1 go to but so often, I'll take out and reacquaint myself Compass Coin Magnum, Tesoro Cortes, Aztec of Deep Search VII as they had their unique advantages. Anyway: Excellent Video ( I just Subscribed) and I'm happy to hear that you recognize the ALL-METAL MODE as it is truly the Best WAY to Discriminate using your Ear / Experience in going after desirable targets versus ones you want to avoid. Unfortunately Professor Calabash Digger has not realized this yet, as he doesn't use the most important mode in his 'Guess- Work' on his channel while hunting, Testing and Comparing.... the PIN POINT MODE. Call me sometime and we can Chat about our Past 'Girlfriends.' Greg Moscini 321 Sea Horse Ct Foster City, CA 94404-1936 650-346-2848 [email protected]

My stories go back to a time before the times you speak of. I go back to his time in Louisiana. On Feb 11, 1902 he killed off Michael William Kerrigan in Louisiana and the stories say he headed to California. Google "Jesse James Louisiana" or "J Frank Dalton Louisiana".

There were 3 Kerrigan Plantations in Louisiana. One was in Waterproof, Louisiana, next to TB Kempe, uncle-in-law of President Jefferson Davis. Another one of his neighbors was JG James. President Jefferson Davis lived about 5 miles from them on Jefferson Davis Island. The abandoned Kempe Plantation is where the James gang went after robbing 2 establishments in Mississippi and they needed time heal after being shot up. Another Kerrigan plantation was south of Sicily Island where J Frank Dalton went to heal after being shot in the leg after stealing some horses in Texas. Kerrigan Rd south of Sicily Island can be found on maps. Another Kerrigan plantation was in Wisner, Louisiana next to Winnsboro, Louisiana. Tom Kerrigan Rd in Wisner can also be found on maps. My grandfather grew up on this plantation. His older brother was Tom Kerrigan. Both served in WW1. There are stories on the internet of Jesse being in all these locations.

I have listened to Part 1 and I am now 2 hours into Part 2 and no mention of his time in Louisiana. Reggie Ann Walker-Wyatt researched his time in Louisiana and you can read about her research on the Internet, as well as other stories from others about his time in Louisiana. I am not interested in the treasure, but I do know of some locations in Louisiana where some can very well be if it exists. Since he died old and knew his death was coming, I believe most of his treasure was converted into money and land and was passed down to his descendants. I am more interested in knowing who he really was. Was he the son of Robert James and Zerelda Dalton as his death certificate says or was he the son of George James and Molly Dalton as you say? I also know Daniel Lowe says Jesse was the son of George James and Molly Dalton but his story is flawed. He has the identity of the men in the photo held by J Frank Dalton backwards. Jesse is on the right in the tuxedo because the picture was taken on his wedding day. Frank is on the left. Their mother, either Zerelda or Molly Dalton is in the middle behind them. There is also an article on the internet titled, "Eyes On Texas The Truth About Jesse James". In this article it says, "One of the stories notes that Jesse's mother, Zerelda, was originally a Dalton. After her father died, the girls were all placed in a Catholic Convent until their mother remarried a Mr. Cole. Zerelda and the other girls were brought out as the Cole girls." Why did Jesse James, AKA J Frank Dalton, say his parents were Robert James and Zerelda Dalton at the time of his death but people today say they were George James and Molly Dalton? I can also tell you that not only does his death certificate say his parents were Robert and Zerelda but the 1860 census says Jesse Woodson James was 12 years old and living with Zerelda and Reuben Samuel. I give credibility to what the documents say.

I wish I could see the pictures he is talking about. In the Ralph Epperson video I posted above, he shows you the real face of Jesse James. First he shows you the face of the man who is known today as Jesse James (Charlie Bigelow). Then about 5 minutes into the video he shows you the real face of Jesus James, AKA J Frank Dalton. As the speaker in this video says, stories have been changed over the years and it is difficult in distinguish fact from fiction. But I can tell you beyond a shadow of a doubt, Ralph Epperson is right on the true face of Jesse James.

Talking about the Indians. Jesse James and Sarah Ann Ferrington had a son named Michael William Kerrigan, my great grandfather. The first wife of Michael William Kerrigan was Arrie Thomason. Her grandfather was Elisha Thomason. Google "The Big Creek Boeuf River Country Before 1843 by Bennie McLain Hixon". Elisha Thomason was the grandson of Elizabeth Stuart Diamond Thomason, descendant of Mary Queen of Scots. One of Zerelda's step fathers was Robert Thomason. They say Wild Bill Thomason was the one who taught Frank, Jesse and Bloody Bill how to ride a horse like a Comanche. He was a mountain man. Arrie Thomason died in 1911. After she died my great grandfather married Susie Trahern from the Choctaw tribe. Google "Trahern James N & Sarah Hall ". Peggy Trahern was the sister of Chief Oklahoma, and presumably Nitakechi as well, their mother was Nahomtima, the sister of Chief Pushmataha. Now Google "Trahern Station Burial Ground". It is a James Cemetery. And there is a George James buried there.

Google "M Carrigan Confederate spy". The Carrigans were cousins of Jesse out of Arkansas. William Michael Carrigan was the younger brother of Lt Colonel Alfred Holt Carrigan. There are articles of Judge A H Carrigan defending the James brothers. Thomas Carrigan was the one who transported the body of Jesse James to Mount Olivet Cemetery in 1902. He is the one who swapped the body of Charlie Bigelow with someone from the James family. My name is Thomas Kerrigan but I wouldn't have been a Kerrigan before the Civil War. I would have been a James.

In The Black Book James R Freeman gave a sworn statement about how he knew J Frank Dalton, the real Jesse James, in Louisiana. In that statement he also testified that he knew Jesse James III. So Jesse James III lived in Louisiana. When Jesse and the gang was on the run after robbing 2 establishments in Mississippi the gang went to the abandoned Kemp Plantation in Tensas Parish, Louisiana. I have a map from before it was known as the abandoned Kemp Plantation. Thomas Byrd Kempe was the uncle-in-law of President Jefferson Davis. The Mississippi River flooded and he bought up the properties around him. The Plantation next to his was the plantation of M Kerrigan. This was before the two robberies in Mississippi. Later as J Frank Dalton, he was shot in the leg while stealing horses from Texas. He went to his Plantation south of Sicily Island, Louisiana, to recover. You can find Kerrigan Rd south of Sicily Island by going to your maps. It is right next to Lovelace Lake. Buffalo Bill testified his wild West show was originally funded by J Frank Dalton, the real Jesse James. The Wild West Show was the 101 Ranch. J Frank Dalton was known to visit the 101 Ranch south of Sicily Island. That is where they kept the big animals like elephants. A great spot for elephants would be right next to a lake. The owner of the 101 Ranch said he named it that because he owed "D" and it made it easier for branding the cows he owed "D". I owe d = 101. "D" was Dalton.

Jesse James and Sarah Ann Farrington/Ferrington had a son on November 7, 1868 and named him Michael William Kerrigan. Google "Farrington brothers Confederate robbers". She was the daughter of Susan King, Susan King was the daughter of Colonial Edmund King, son of Elizabeth Woodson Thomas. The mother of Susan King was Nancy Ragan, daughter of Rebecca Hall, daughter of Betty G Woodson. I have taken the Ancestry DNA test and I have the results of my Aunt's Ancestry DNA test. We have cousins who are descendants of Jesse's grandparents and beyond. 22 pages of cousins in our Ancestry DNA ThruLunes. What we don't have are cousins who are descendants of the man shot in the back of the head under the name Jesse James. They are not in the DNA because they are descendants of Charlie Bigelow.

My wife and i owned treasure island metal detector shop from 2000 thru 2010. I sold Garrett, fisher, bounty hunter and Tesoro. I know my detectors! These new detectors that have lights, vibration, lcd screens and bells and whistles pulls battery juice and most sacrifice depth for technology. Tesoro el Dorado, cibola, silver umax etc are freaking beasts. 2lb and drop in 9volt single battery. Their Absolutely a forerunner in detectors. My favorite detector of all time will always be the fisher 1266xb. Second place will be El Dorado or Cibola. Trash talking detectors is simply childish. Jack Gifford the founder of Tesoro when he retired handed the business over to his sons. They didn't have the passion for detectors as jack. Wish Tesoro could come back.

The older detectors definitely make me concentrate more and definitely dig more signals here in the uk that I wouldn’t of with a newer detector BUT people are just walking over good stuff thinking it’s junk ! My Tesoro is so light and has brill discrimination, love it and well said by you 👏

Analog detectors are not for me. My first analog was a Tesoro Euro Saber 2. When a colleague found a small gold Celtic coin, my Tesoro recognized not a gold coin, but only a "small iron". That was the end of Tesoro for me, and after many years I tried an analogue of the Bulgarian brand Deep Tech - model Varior. I'm sorry, but no, it didn't work, my best detector is a digital, Russian, Aka brand, Signum model. And my other favorite digital was the Fisher Gold Bug2. But everyone is comfortable with something different, and that's okay.

My thoughts about new versus old. I'm a White's guy since 1980. Detectors with sensitivity settings we all want to run them high as we can, So high we end up with overload and masking. It's hard to turn it down below the highest settings. Recently got a closet Queen White's MX Sport. The forums burned that detector, HOT as heil, way to noisy. The machine was built with internal sensitively settings starting high. White's went under, The thinking was the Sport was a failure. Being stubborn I watched many Tube videos, The People who were willing to turn the sensitivity settings down found a great machine. I also recently got a White's IDX Pro (Like new) (vintage, 1999) I had another one in 2000 as well as a 6000XL Pro. Compared them on a area which gave up Indianhead's, The IDX could see every coin the XL Pro got. The IDX can be run Max sensitivity for the most part. Silent search machine. Point being, the sensitivity of 8 on one machine can be way too high whereas an 8 on another is perfect. I believe the Analog detectors are more stable than digital. I believe if a person can bite the bullet and turn the digitals sensitivity settings down it will work much better for them. The markets, The forums are all selling DIGITAL and tell you analog is no longer good. Spend more than a $1,000, You get what I mean. That old IDX Pro is turn on and go and it's FUN. My 3 detectors now... White's MX Sport, A MXT all Pro and the IDX Pro. Got my best choices covered.

The tesoro compadre is tesoros cheapest detector, I had one and it use to out do a Deus on coins . Great little machine wish I never parted with it. I've got the Deus, a c.scope, minelab, goldenmask. But on small targets and mineralisation the tesoro is king. Simple, effective and old school. Not so deep but great target response and recovery speed. Great on iron infested sites.Come Back Tesoro you have a cult following 👍

The Garrett Master Hunter 7 is hard to beat if you can afford the batteries ;) The White's 6000 only has the problem that they left the back hoe out of the box ;) I'll swear that thing will find a BB at 9 inches ;) And if your coin shootin. they will never make anything better than the Fisher 1265X. 2 independent disc circuits right at your index will let you clean a park without bothering with the trash!!! The digitals have a hard time finding a silver dollar laying on top of the ground LOL!

I'm glad your talking about this subject. There are videos on KZbin that show people using metal detectors, wading into streams and rivers, in Virginia, bringing up handfuls of Civil War bullets and finding buttons etc. I'm familiar with Virginia. It rains there. It's possible for it to rain there to the point that rivers and streams can be turned into Niagra Falls. This much water can scour the bottom down to the bedrock and wash things 10 miles down stream.
