Sorry but watching the video, BG was miming to the singing, but his microphone was live, so it gives you the impression that it was live. You can tell that it was mimed as the lip sync was very slightly off. However, a classic song thank God for the 80's.

As much as I love Culture Club, it saddens me that for such a big event, in such a large area, the band didn't play live. None of the guitars have leads attached at all and it sounds like Boy is dubbed.
