For all the people upset at [listener] for being so 'stubborn', I would like to remind you all that they have been with this organization since they were a **child**. They have spent their whole life believing that they were with people who were the good guys, that they were one of the good guys. They were trained by them and saw them as a family, the family they didn't or never had. They gave them something when before they had nothing. And now the person they've been told to see as evil incarnate is telling them that these people are bad. The whole point of manipulation is that the people who are the victims of it trust or believe the manipulator. Even the one before this showed it, as well as this one. They don't believe themselves to be of enough worth to even ask questions about killing someone. Literal murder. They're in so deep in manipulation and misguided trust that they still think the people telling them to murder someone are the good guys. They have to break free of the manipulation before they can go with the villain, unfortunately. Edit: To compare it to our world, lets say a child in an abusive home has been manipulated into thinking their family are wonderful people that are just misunderstood and want what's best for them. Would you blame said child for still trusting their family even as an adult? Manipulation is hard to break free from. And it most definitely runs this deep. There's also some signs of abuse, but I won't dig deep into those. [Listener] doesn't view themselves as worthy of even the villain's help. They don't see themselves as a person even, just something the organization can push around without question. If they question or have doubts, they're a bad person. If they have wants that aren't what their boss's want, they're a bad person. If they want to put their happiness and safety above certain things, they're a bad person.
