Jim was my sculpture prof at UC - Berkeley in the great year of 1967. Still in touch with him so many years later. He is turning 92. A wonderful and enlightened human being. A blessing to know. This is a video of a potter's meditation, of sorts. The participants are asked to experience the potters "slip" drying on their faces. It was in Jim's class in 1967 that I met Elaine Duncan, Frank Simons and Steve Laub. They had just learned Transcendental Meditation. Soon I also learned, and it became my life's work, as a Certified TM Teacher for many many years. HAPPY BIRTHDAY JIM!

Compulsive is the word. I think Annabeth would be a compulsive collector (aka messy) if she would not live it in her ceramics. Because when looking at her studio and all the different pieces strewn about, she would drown in other collections of stuff, quite possibly. Now this is not to say that she isn't a nice person, but her ceramics show a certain personality, that we have inside us and many of us try to bring order to. I might just use this in my own work, as I find it most inspiring and intriguing. My work is very orderly and very tidy and speaks of a different side of people. The dressed up, the tidied up in a figurative way. Maybe we can learn from each other.
