So you’re saying you used a coat hanger and finagled up under the hood from the corner of the headlight? I don’t remember seeing any loose cables under the hood that could belong to the hood release however..just perplexed how I’m going to blindly find it by swiping a coat hanger 🤔

After doing this I decided that I would update my cables and added a homemade emergency pull cable attached to the lock itself so now all I have to do is pop the grill off and pull the cable I made and BAM! it opens.

I would suggest using a thinner rod, I bought the one size down from 3/16 which I believe was 1/8. Thicker rods will have trouble dipping into the latch box. There should also be a slight bend near the end to help get into the latch area. Only took me a few minutes. I then unscrewed the latch assembly from the frame by taking out the 2 torx bolts and was able to bring it above the latch box to work on. For mine, the black cable housing had slipped off the latch although the ball end of the cable was correctly attached. The black cable housing had a notch to hold it onto the latch, but it looked like it could easily slip off the notch again so I zip tied it to the latch. Sprayed it with WD40, tested it and reinstalled and works fine now.

Hi, great video! If i connect the sink to the sanicompact, how much water is needed from the sink to activate the pump/macerator? (I only ask as i would like to connect my condensing boiler to the sink pipe (on the way to the macerator) and it would dribble a very small amount of water when on.
@trinjaminternational
@trinjaminternational Жыл бұрын
Not sure but I can run the sink indefinitely and the toilet autoflushes when a certain amount of water is let in. I wouldn’t worry about the connection you’re referring to, should be fine

That's completely all wrong... Remove drivers side corner light...reach up and you will feel the cable...push down on the hood at the same time pull the cord lightly...I've done it multiple times
@trinjaminternational
@trinjaminternational Жыл бұрын
That works for the driver side latch, not the passenger side if it’s also stuck. I think the video clearly illustrates that. Glad yours worked out, this is a reference for multiple scenarios that may not reflect your situation.

You saved our life today! This worked. Take the bezel off from around drivers side headlight. Then stick said wire thing in the space. If you put a phone on windshield pointing down, it helps light it up. Then yank on that sucker! Thank you so much for the video!

I had to drill/cut some plastic away near where you were counting down the ribs....finally got it open. Serviced the car...and the latch stuck again! I put a ton of WD40 and lithium grease on it.... maybe it'll jostle loose again? If not..
@trinjaminternational
@trinjaminternational 2 жыл бұрын
Check where the cable meets the latch, it may be slipping out. You may have to use a zip tie to secure it in place so it doesn’t slip out of the housing. I did that for mine.

@trinjaminternational
@trinjaminternational 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Jorge, the actual hood release is probably stuck because the cable rusts after time so squeezing doesn’t make the last latch move back enough to escape the clasp, facing the car, stand on the right side near the fender with a 12-14 inch screwdriver 🪛, lift the fender so you can see that lever and slide the screwdriver against it and leverage towards the firewall/windshield direction while holding the he hood up until it slips free, you then need to replace the hood release cable, clasp and wire.

Always gets clogged, and from time to time I have a really bad septic smell. Not sure if it's coming from the sink that's hooked up to the toilet or the tiny cheater vent that's built into the toilet. So my kids use it as an emergency toilet. I just see it as a huge waste of money.

It's a terrible design and then they charge you for it, a really poor way to treat customers imo. Also the cables slip out sometimes, so a tie strap to secure it is extra peace of mind. Glad it worked for you.
