Glad to hear it! As for where to start/how to get started...I recommend looking for some weight four acrylic yarn from a craft store/Dollar Tree and getting a 5mm, 5.5mm, or 6mm hook. There's a whole world of tutorials you can find on KZbin or other social media platforms that can guide you from there! It definitely can be hard to find motivation and patience for it, but once it clicks, it's a super great time. I know for me, I first started with learning how to do basic granny squares, then made Wilmade's "Such Simple Shawl" as my first full project. It worked up relatively fast, taught me a few stitches, and gave me something wearable to have pride in.

I sell mine for $12! $7 for my time, $3 for my yarn/stuffing, $1 for durable materials (my hook, my compression gloves, my tech for managing business, etc.), and $1 for utilities needed for me to function to create my art. I do basic math on my end for my projects I make a lot of to get the price as low as I feel comfortable selling it at while still making enough to live, you know? I haven't gotten to see her, but we've been occasionally messaging back and forth since the move happened! She's been doing well in Arkansas, and I've been doing pretty well with life here in Alabama! I really hope that an opportunity for us to see each other face to face comes again soon. Im glad you decided to USE it and not tuck it to save forever, im stuck in the loop of wondering if any pattern will ever be worthy enough of my precious Noro fiber lol

He really did! He constantly does these little things that remind me of how intently he listens to me despite all the rambling I do. It makes me fall in love with him all over again, honestly. And I wish you luck in finding the perfect pattern for your Noro fiber! I've alwayd been a big believer in using things up even when it isn't the "perfect occasion", because things were made to be utilized. I wear fancy pieces casually (like the green floral pants I sometimes wear being a $150+ pair from my high school graduation), I burn my fancy candles regularly, and I indulge in utilizing my fanciest yarns for everyday pieces so I can get the most use out of them. The closest I've gotten is that I have an original 1918 crochet textbook from a Home Economics college course, and I stumbled across it when helping clean out a hoarder's home. Omg I love this so much !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just started crocheting in February 2024 and am now working on my very first blanket and I’m super excited about that ! The thing that give me anxiety that I want to be able to do more things with us heights I think that being high is cool but I’m scared of falling ! Also have you ever tried the mainstays 100% acrylic yarn from walmart because that’s what I’m using for this blanket and I absolutely adore it !! Anyway I will definitely be watching your videos from now on I love this !😊

The first one I ever started was a scrap blanket I worked on for a few years and gifted to my boyfriend this last Christmas! I totally get the fear of falling, thing! It can be super scary, but I believe in you! Maybe you can find some places near you that you can go up and enjoy the view so that it can help distract from the feeling as you practice? I haven't gotten a chance to try MainStays acrylic, shockingly enough! I'll have to see if I can get my hands on some at some point!
