Thank u for the tips. I am also worried about rust because my last car got so rusty on the bottom it was expensive to fix. Do you think an old truck (specifically a 1983 Ford F 250) is capable of being used for truck camping life? I want to potentially buy one to live in with a slide in camper in the bed.

Like international, Mack made their own equipment. Most other trucks are pretty generic. I drove Mack’s for a lot of years. I never had a break down. They work hard every day and they are there the next day for more. Yea, maintenance is key, but these electronic wonders of today are notorious for breakdowns. The only time I ever got stranded in a big truck was an electronic breakdown. That happened a few times.

Thanks for the info on this video I have a 65 c10 and wanted to upgrade to disc brakes in the front. I saw another video on swapping out the complete front suspension but that’s a lot more work. The way you did it using the original front and rear A arms and using everything else from the Surburban is a time and money saver !. I want to upgrade the rear end with the 71-72 c10 setup but will everything line up and work properly including the driveshaft? Let me know or if anybody else has done this rear end conversion can help me out

67 Yrs ago I had a 1949 Mack EG. Looks like it had the same engine and transmission. We used that truck a long time, Dump in summer logs in winter. I don't remember it ever giving trouble!

THE E.H AND N.R. WERE IN THE WAR AND MANY CAME TO AUSTRALIA AS SURPLUS U.S. ARMY VEHICLES. THE E.H. WERE PETROL AND NOT AS POPULAR. THE N.R's DID THE HARD WORK IN THE TIMBER INDUSTRY ON THE EAST COAST. ALSO HAULED FUEL IN 44Gl. DRUMS ON THERE WAY BACK UP THE COAST AND WERE KNOWN AS THE 100 DRUMMERS [20TONS] . THE SO CALLED PACIFIC HIGHWAY WAS A DISGRACE TO THE HUMAN RACE AND HOW THE TRUCKS AND DRIVERS STOOD UP TO IT I WILL NEVER KNOW. WE WILL ALWAYS BE INDEBTED TO MACK TRUCK. THANK YOU AMERICA.

O-H-I-O Porter greetings 🇺🇸 Some good input for sure! My dad was a Used Car dealer & I was able to learn a few things from him…the good, the bad & the indifferent. Rule 1: Be Respectful at all times, even if you’re the seller. I had a guy interested in my truck that was drunk. I could smell it & his behavior reflected it as well! I think it reflects well if you drive your own old truck, except if it looks like you just drove it from the junkyard. You want to enjoy the truck all that you can & there is a balance between the rough looks & something you are proud of. I love old trucks & cars & really like to see them on the road. Good stuff. Thanks for sharing. Blessings my friend.🤩🥰✌️😊

I am looking for an old truck for a project have been for last two years but their not easy to come by I'm looking for a rolling body at worst not running and as long as it's older than 1982 ill be happy but I've yet to find anything under 3 thousand Wich is above my range by 3ooo lol I found a few no title but I'm not dealing with that trouble so I'm just being patient and hoping I can find a decent body broken drivetrain truck that will take years and five thousand dollars to restore I want to invest but I also want to do the work and I'm old enough to get into a long term project my cousin has a beautiful 4x4 square body but has built motor runs so I don't even want to ask what their asking I know it's above 3k my grampa has a 42 ford not Ford fan but he won't part with any of his yard art ever and has bad ass cars then have another great uncle with a 74 big block 4x4 original motor trans low miles great condition I'm working up the courage to ask about it he has kids so I assume they are in line to inherit it but that one I'm willing to at least ask them about even if it's a no or even a little above my range I'd pay it as it's perfect and would be drivable and I could slowly make it faster and nicer I prefer a 5oo dollar beater with need of almost everything but there really not that abundant here in new Mexico we have good climate and the metal lasts a long time most old guys think there worth the bank and ask unreasonable prices Wich if they wait long enough some collector from east coast will buy them or they die and go to junkyard or you pull it and then you cant buy them I've asked and you'd have to buy it peice at a time no title ever just bad deal I know there are trucks and cars out here and they can be found for cheap or free but they are not easy to find it seems like I find them when I can't come up with the cash and no one loans money to buy what they seem as junk so now I've set aside 500 for that once in a lifetime junktruck find or even old car with a good frame and body good bones are all I want and ill do the hard work to get what I want from there I have a 74 lemans w 400 that was a lowrider so frame is crap and lil bro has a 72 gto so I let him use the lemans if he builds the goat mom has firebird I bought her a built 301 and trans for it but I need me my own project I've got too many ideas and the know how to do something wonderful and access to a full garage with every tool I could need so the time is ripe I need me a junker lmao wish me luck I know if I had money I could get something easy but easy isn't as important once she's done it'll be priceless from a 5oo dollar initial investment and I could put out a peice of art under 5k with my own labor

CPP and other companies now make adjusting sleeves to where you can keep your original center link and not have to worry about drawing for the idler bracket Are use the proportioning valve and lines from a square body… There was a lot less guesswork and it actually all went right in using all original parts for a squarebody Not saying what’s better or worse from what you did just a lot easier with just the technology of stuff that’s come out now
