@@oldladyhiking Thanks.Jacks creek is right across the river from Chessmond Ferry public access at Calico Rock.It can be a hard paddle straight across but if you miss it you can still paddle upriver if you’re right next to the bank.Thanks for watching.

It’s actually Dutchmans pipe (pinesap) because it has multiple flowers on a single stem instead of a single flower.It is the next closest thing to ghost pipe.Same life cycle and everything.A viewer corrected me a while back.Thanks for watching.

Better you don't relate this beautiful nature's gift to any religion. If you are not successful in sprouting and germinating your passion fruit seeds then go for propagation through cutting. You need to have a branch with a minimum of two nodes.

I believe this is pine sap not ghost pipe! Ghost pipe had a single flower per stall, pine sap has multiple like these

Thanks for the comment and I believe you are correct.They are closely related ,both in the genus Monotropa .They have the same life cycle and no chlorophyll.I didn’t know about the multiple flowers when I made this video .Thanks for the clarification.

@christophermccurry8039Ай бұрын
@RiverBreezeOutdoors the panther cap will have striation lines on the margins of the cap, no pink staining, and a ring of material on the top of the volva. Fortunately pantherina is not known to grow in your area making it far less likely to get one by mistake.

Are These mushroom Safe to eat or do you have to prepare them first? ?
@RiverBreezeOutdoors3 ай бұрын
They should be cooked first.Mushroom cell walls are made of chitin which we can’t digest very well without cooking it first.Some mushrooms also contain substances that are harmful but are neutralized when they are heated to around 200 degrees.Its best to avoid raw mushrooms because of this.Happy hunting, and thanks for watching.

That was a nice video. I picked my first two yesterday here in Central MD. Not alot grow here, but they do. Ive been into it for the past 5 years, i found 6 spots where they grow year after year. Last year was a bad year here. But this year looks good, we had a change in weather from march, which set us back a bit in my opinion. Before that it was early this year compared to other years. I love it, its a accomplishment to find them here. Nobody really thinks they are in this area. Not a ton of them but they are here. Best of luck Sir!
