In 1958 our family kayaked through Europe for two months. We travelled on many of the rivers and really enjoyed the adventure. We were all our family except our mother who went to Scandinavia with her mother. So we consisted of father, my eldest sister, younger sister, older brother and me. I was 16 years old at the time and will never forget what a wonderfully way it was to visit towns along the way. The things I remember were the Sun. There is no way to avid the Sun and the wind. We slept in youth hostels along the way and also convents too. For lunch we would have rolls and bread with a drink along the bank of the river. Never have I forgotten that wonderful summer of adventure in a two person klepper kayak

I'm surprised how clean the sound is coming from the giant speaker on the right side during this storm! And yes, I own the red label Soulo (sand color) myself and have had it in storms with 75 mph (120 km/h) winds 😶🌫️with the 9 mm poles in the Swiss Alps without any problems.

I was high up in Langsett the other night, and the winds turned wild. The winds were 80 mph +. I had no chance of erecting my tent, and I ended up sleeping in a foil survival bivvy in a gully.

I own an old Mainstream Patriot which I bought used for 200 dollars a couple of years ago. She is heavy and paddles like a barge, but I love the thing. She can carry up to 400 pounds of gear and you, and has a huge cockpit, perfect for a kid or dog up front. Stable enough to stand on, and I use her for fishing. Stable and almost untippable. But it takes some paddling effort to keep up with more agile kayaks. I also use her for beginners because she is almost impossible to fall out of, or damage. The seat isn't very comfortable but I use a foam stadium seat pad and have spent hours at a time in her. If you want room, weight capacity and stability, get this one. If you want nimble speed, steer clear.

*Nice size for me (5' 9" and 170) - maneuvers well. ⊳⊳>**share4.photo/HKayak?181 ** I ordered a seat cushion because sitting on the hard plastic for more than 30 mins gets uncomfortable.*

*I must admit I love this kayak. Handles well in the water, very maneuverable.⊳⊳>**share4.photo/HKayak?120 ** Very basic The storage hole isnt the best but it's not for expeditions. I'm 6'3" and 200lbs. and I fit alright in it. The best part is the portability. I can pick it up and put it inside my van by myself. I dont even have to put it on the roof rack, love it! I paid $180 plus tax.*

@veroniquediallo60552 жыл бұрын
@@lewisdinnebier7931 I believe the point is the amount of time it took for this person to set up his tent. Under Arctic conditions (which involves extreme wind chill factors) this guy for certain would be an ice cube. A strong point was made. Set up time under foul weather conditions is critical, especially at higher elevations. Cheer.
@doughobbs77062 жыл бұрын
its not meant for Arctic use - its a single skin mountain tent 🙄
@MikeDuguid Жыл бұрын
For much of the 5 minutes or so to set this up, the guy is inside the tent protected from windchill, unlike many other tents where the poles would need to be dealt with while outside, and would be almost impossible to do so while solo.

Pushing a tent stake with the foot can be an efficient way to drive it in the ground, but wich should be done with care. In that kind of ground, really, there is not much risk of breaking a quality tent peg. However, I generally prefer to use a rock or the heel of a mountaineering boot as a hammer, as it allow a better control of the intensity and direction of the force applied as well as a feedback about what's in the ground.

Also it can damage your shoes.

Unbedingt ausprobieren ! Es gibt tolle Kurse dafür. Auch der unkomplizierte Transport im Kofferraum. Wir haben damit schon viele Seen erkundet. Viel Spaß
