Great video! We are from alabama and will be doing this hike mid September. I don’t have one of those ropes as I have never needed one. They seem to be pretty expensive, especially if this would be the only time I would ever use it. Is the rope very important or necessary?

The key is to bring plenty of $20 dollar bills. Tell them that's all you have. Speak a bit of Spanish to them. Show them you love their people and country .... and that's easy to do because the Mexican people are amazing. The military and cops and EVERYONE is a family oriented person in Mexico.

Loved the video. I had a great childhood and have rafted a lot. Growing up I never did a trip like this. I now raft 50+ days a year. I can't imagine how much more I would be rafting now if I had taken trips like this as a child. You are a great parent. I hope there are more of you out there. And yes we all hate dams, but who doesn't like buliding them in a creek as a kid? Priceless

Great tips, especially sitting away from the bus stickers. But my lord why did you bring such huge horrendous luggage???! Super inconvenient on the bus and those stairs I would think. Loved your take on how you ended the video. Perspective is key and yes, Just GO! 🌍 ✈️

Was the 2 hour Puno tour enough? it's 20-30min to the islands so that leaves 1 hour on the island itself? The bus schedule says arrive Puno 6am depart to Copacabana 8am what if the tour is back after 8am?

Absolutely. The short tour is pretty touristy but if you can swing the long tour it would be a much better experience. Not sure on timing

Glad that you enjoy your visit to my hometown. Day of the dead is a very important date for us because is not only to remember our ancestors but also to remember that we are here for a short time and to honor those who came before us we must live the best life we can. now the kids on the catedral is a especial mass for the day of all saints (november 1st Dia de los Inocentes),}when whe remember the children who have died and the second day celebrates all deceased adults.

@@travelwith6589Nice that you gave extra to the ppl in RURAL/small town Perú that are really just trying to eek out an existence. However, you are a tourist, and you don't live in Lima or Quito. When you are RESIDENT, be it from the US or a European-descent Latin American, the price goes up on many services, especially:cabs (no meters), home repairs, car repairs, hair salons etc. The phrase "gringo prices" happens for a reason.
