cool video! +subbed. What i like to do is this: to control the roughness and metalness values in Blender, add a Math node in between the Principled BSDF node and the image node (of roughness or metalness), set to multiply.

Nice tutorial.. But when i tried to export it, i only got height and normal map.. for the others i got messages like "map cant be generated for texture set, the input map 'Base Color' needed by the map 'xxxxxxxxx_xxxx_color' of the texture set 'None' isnt available because 'base color' channel is missing in your texture set. Because this is my first time using substance and first time with this problems XD

You should render in Open Exr format and then separate channels in a vfx software like Nuke

Can you explain this process a little more in depth? It can be a more simple example, a box and one of the faces is a screen. I am coming from C4D where the workflow seems a little easier, but I am exploring Blender, so I want to understand how best to approach it. What I'm looking for specifically is the getting the 3D data from the screen out and using that as a matte so I can comp all of that inside of Ae. I hope that makes sense.

what about glass with opacity? how can I import it?
@blendernoobs8387
@blendernoobs8387 2 жыл бұрын
Hey 4NTH. Do you have opacity set up in Substance Painter? If so, you can add an opacity map to your output files, and then it will give you one to set up. I can make a quick tutorial on how to do that. Let me know where specifically you are having an issue and I will make sure to address it in the video. Thanks!

@blendernoobs8387

Great question! Cryptomatte can be used but is really great for compositing within Blender itself. Since I am mostly an After Effects user, using this workflow made it pretty quick and easy. :)

Great work😀👍👍. idk if you do fan requests about the popular zombie game TWD. The walking dead telltale series. but, I have a cool idea that is optional. I'm wondering if you'd be willing to make a short apocalypse survival story animation about the 5 male charactors models. from telltales TWD. where they survive but are slowly killed one by one until Kenny is the only one left alive to fight at the end. Using the group led by Kenny season 2 model from steam workshop. And add in any other existing charactor models you find from telltales twd and have them taken out at random one by one until Kenny is the final survivor. Like an survival horror type animation . Using the telltale TWD charactors group of Kenny mark Vince Glenn Nick . Have them killed in random order. Search up steam workshop:: the walking dead collection to find all the charactor models. Also if Kenny doesn't show up just search up Kenny player model.

@@atefezare5623 - Hey! I updated to the new Adobe Substance 3D Painter (formally Substance Painter) and was able to replicate the results without any errors or changing textures. I am also using 2.93. This may be something to do with how the textures are set up inside Blender. To troubleshoot, I think it would be good if you unwrapped a basic cube and did a simple bake and texture withing Substance 3D Painter, then export the texture back into Blender to see if they still don't match up. If they don't, then it could be something with the export or import settings. Do you have any nodes that change the color within the shading network? Try and strip away everything besides the main nodes if that is the case and see if you are still experiencing issues. We do plan on setting up a Discord server so in the future if people are needing some help, we can hop in the server and do a screenshare. :)
