Damn I just broke my rod, just had her tuned too. Luckily engine can still turn, thinking of going with a 383 stroker assembly.

hey man, the ls1 is made up of many different metals, so the aluminum block expands at a different rate than the other components, when the motor is up to temp. it should go away, i was scared too until i learned about it. don't worry.

In case anyone else reads this, if an engine truly has a (connecting) rod knock, it will not "go away." A rod knocks because the metal bearing that goes between the rod & the crankshaft has broken down to where there is space between the two parts. The only way for it to go away is for a new bearing to be installed in its place. Some people put thicker oil in to quiet it up, but ultimately that will only make it last a little longer before blowing.
