The payout table for trips is not great on this game. The 6 card bonus on 3 Card Poker is much better.

He doesn't play the trips because the pay out odds won't warrant the risk. Without trips and playing correct strategy by betting 4 times before the flop when the odds are favorable makes this game a very low volatility table game. I know it seems like it was the wrong choice today but in the long run it's the best strategy.

This session if you played $10 on trips every hand you would have lost $80 but would've won $230 for a profit of $150. Personally, yesterday I played at my local casino and tracked my trips bets by playing $1 chips on trips. I put all the trips winnings back into the trips chips and I bought 60x$60. If they were $10 chips I would've lost an additional $600. People that say trips are the only way to make money don't understand that the odds of winning on trips is substantially less than the main bets. Sometimes people run hot and win a lot on trips but more people lose more on trips than the few that win on trips
