Rant but: This song gave me resolve when I finally left an abusive 9 year relationship. She was physically, emotionally, and financially abusive. But I stayed hoping I would be an example of devoted love and she would snap out of it. It wasn't just a sunken ship fallacy. It was strong emotions, wishing the relationship could go back and her stringing me along with some quick moments of "progress" that was just for show. Being "the hand that feeds you" spoke to me. Because she was dependant on me for years to go to work and pay for everything. While she stayed home, bought things behind my back(so I would have to go to debt to pay bills at times), smoked weed 24/7, and played video games. My mistake was thinking she was sincere about finally contributing to the relationship. But I came home after work and cleaned the house more than her by a mile and did all the errand. She didn't see anything wrong with our dynamic, because it suited her just fine. It is hard to break up when you know they depend on you, when you have hope that they will turn around, and when their childhood traumas meet yours. She grew up with abandonment issues. She bounced around family members who didn't want to raise a child. I think she was the way she was because she wanted to feel like she had control. Made her feel more stable. While I grew up with abuse from a step father. Which instilled this mindset I am trying to challenge. That "they only get abusive, because they cared that much." She would start hitting me and attacking my insecurities the last couple years. Because I started calling her out. She basically controlled my life and I only had a 1 friend who I knew before her I kept in contact with. She had to know everyone I was talking to. I was not even allowed to watch female content creators. (Camilla is one of the first I started watching after the break up.) Basically we shared every friends. But they were her friends and I kinda was just there. I know she is telling them I am evil to finally ditch her. But this song put me in the right mindset. It also gave me the appropriate amount of anger to have the courage stay broken up. She can take it to the grave and pretend I was the problem. I am moving on.

You manage pain by taking so much damage that the pain is nothing compared tothe time you took the most pain so basically it needs to hurt so bad it makes the little pain nothing lmao
