Picked up a new one in March, just rode to west coast from Niagara Falls Ontario and back, No issues, thru the mountains at between 3 and 3500 rpm corners well and braking is fabulous.n Put some lock tight on the aerial, it does come loose.

I sat on anR18B today in the showroom, I am 6'3, 35" inseam. I felt like it fit me in like a glove, but did not test drive it. My Guzzi California 1100 had odd ergonomics and floorboards but it never bothered me. I just got used to it. I loved the bike too much to care. The R18 is like a Bentley. R18 heel-toe shifter is fully adjustable.

I absolutely love my 22 plate blaze orange one. Everyone tells me how beautiful it is which it actually is. Handles brilliantly, fast as I would ever need and great mpg. Cruise control is my only gripe, faffing around trying to get it back on after changing down is downright dangerous.

Sold my fully customized Harley bagger for one of these. Reliable, doesn't rattle the bolts loose, and not paying HD (hundred dollars) for parts 😂 Ride safe 😎

Obviously, it's NOT that "overlooked." I saw one for sale, and knew that was my next bike. I bought my 2016 Kawasaki Vulcan Voyager 1700 3 months ago, and it is BY FAR "THE BEST" motorcycle that I have ever owned! And I've owned Harley's, Honda's, Yamaha's, Kawasaki's, and a Triumph! Big bikes and small bikes and everything in between. And I'll take my Kawasaki Vulcan Voyager 1700 over ANY other bike I've ever owned or ridden. And since I bought this one, I've noticed that there are quite a few of them on the road. BTW, the "K-ACT" is not the "Suspension System," it's the "Anti-Lock Braking System." The computer controls the braking system. And if you only apply either the rear brake OR the front brake, the K-ACT system automatically applies the other wheel with equal brake pressure! It helps to keep the brakes from locking up and keep you stopping straight. The Key and Ignition switch have a unique feature also. You have to use the key to turn the ignition to the "Accessory" or on "Position." But then you can REMOVE THE KEY and put it in your pocket and ride away. When you stop and shut it off, you can turn the Ignition switch to the "Off" position without using the key. But you do have to use the key to turn it back on. It's a feature to help prevent losing your key, or having your keys rattle around on the chrome bezel. I think you'll like the way it rides, handles, and has plenty of power for cruising, and it's comfortable! I had a Yamaha1700 and I had to have the seat redone to make it comfortable. Not with the Kawasaki. I've ridden 7 hours straight and my "arse" and "back" were not hurting. Best wishes!

I had a 2020 crew and had a mixed experience with it. Pros were ride quality, fuel economy, space, packaging, quietness, seat setup, maintenance intervals, brake performance, handling (for such a large machine) and my local dealer. Cons were low ground clearance (which has been fixed), zero engine braking (a safety issue in the hilly terrain of western Newfoundland) and silly durability issues which spoiled the experience for me. The major mechanical problems were 1. cheap bearings - I had to replace two front wheel bearings and the drive shaft steady bearing within 3000 km. 2. Front a-arm bushings were also worn out by 3000 km and are not sold separately - you have to replace the a-arms. 3. The steering rack also developed excessive play by 3000 km and was replaced. Everything mentioned above was covered under warranty just before it expired and it was at that point that I decided I didn't want to have to deal with repair bills in the thousands two years down the road so I traded it on a Yamaha. It's really too bad that Cat (and certain other manufacturers) nickel and dime customers by sourcing components based on price alone. If Cat had used top shelf bushings, bearings, etc. I would have been a long term customer since I really did like the machine and was sad to see it go. They would also save money on warranty claims by using better components since they wouldn't be paying dealers so much for labour.

I have 6000 miles on my R18 TC. The seating position is cramped and not comfortable for more than an hour at a time and I’m 5’11”. The connectivity for the nav and music interface on the TFT is unusable. Other than those two issues I find it to be a fine bike. I also have a Road King and Road Glide. The Harleys are more comfortable but do not handle or perform as well as the R18 in their stock configurations.

@@Letsgetit1600 There is an adjustment, but if it has floorboards, that won’t work out very well. If you adjust it up to get your boot under the shifter, you just put it closer to the cylinder head, making it hard to get your toe on top. The owner's manual describes how to use the heel-toe shift, which is easy anyway. I suppose either will work as long as the shoe fits.

I have a 2013 and absolutely love it . There needs to be more aftermarket accessories, other than that I have no complaints. I have owned a HD Ultra Classic and they are very similar. The biggest difference is reliability. Not many are aware, but the Voyager is assembled here in the U.S.

Bought a 2012 last spring for 800.00 dollars. It was in a deer accident and had front fairing damage. I spent 1300.00 in parts and a afternoon replacing plastic. So for the grand total of 2100.00 dollars I’ve got a pretty decent bike. I’ve been a Harley guy since the early 80’s and after riding this bike the Harley has kinda been put out to pasture. Never thought I’d trade brands.

Have a '22 DL650 Adventure. Took it on a 2500 mile really hard trip fully loaded and with extra fuel. 105 degree heat all day long to 10k foot mountain passes. Pulled the high elevation grades like a champ. Super comfy and I still say, 3rd gen 650's are excellent looking bikes. Have a bike with a cool TFT dash and I still prefer the DL's setup. Proud to ride one.
