Kudos to this writer and his intention of national integration and lesson for today’s India, but it seems he lacks that depth and no Book on Panipat is complete without reference to Vishwas Patil and Dr Uday Kulkarni’s scholarly work. Well wishes for him for future work!

Nice to listen. Ms. Veera has given vent to her pain in the form of creations. This is the best way to heal inner wounds and scars. I am also surprised about your skill of asking so interesting and appealing questions about the different kind of subject matter and genre! 1947 has so many , highly tragic stories in it's womb!

Did not listen through the entire discussion but yes sometimes a smallest unit of human interaction like that of spouse is a mini-model of what factors play in - factors like love, respect, rights, duties, control, coordination, etc - these factors that define how successful co-existence is between two humans is further influenced by underlying values and beliefs which the society has been shaping for years and human efforts sadly have been more in direction of abiding by them rather than giving due thought on if they are valid or not- after all the rules of society and so called identities are man-made too. One of the basic question is why would religion, caste be anyone’s identity? Herd mentality is what underlines it but otherwise it is enough to be just categorized as humans. Human rights sadly vary and should be identified globally but we would need to look beyond religion into reality of being just humans

Aunties of vasant kunj by Anuradha Marwah escapes one such trap and launches the lives of women in their 40s just as they are and how they should be. A brilliantly written novel the delves middle class life and its unique challenges. A vivid portrayal of a modern day delhi and the bonds that hold us together.

Wonderful, intuitive interview. We can very well understand the notion of the writer through this interview which makes me keen to take a look of the lives of middle-aged women in Delhi's Vasant Kunj neighborhood. We get to see their complexities in life, the pressure of societal expectations. This gives a very sharp conflict of ideas as well such as social expectations vs individual desires; Friendship vs Solidarity. It reveals the quiet resilience of women who are often underrated.

I had a wonderful time watching this interview flow from one topic to another so seamlessly. It was really interesting to learn about someone who juggles being a professor, author and playwright, and does all three with such devotion. What particularly spoke to me was when Ms. Anuradha talked about one of her characters from Aunties of Vasant Kunj, Ms. Gandhi, surprising her throughout the plotting of her narrative. It struck me because of how it parallels real life, where fairly often people you don't necessarily expect to play major roles in your life, become so central to it at times. All in all, it was nice to have a glimpse into the professional writer life, and I'm really looking forward to when I have my own copy of Aunties of Vasant Kunj, to experience the output of all the author's hardwork.

The Aunties of Vasant Kunj by Anuradha Marwah is an insightful, often humorous exploration of the lives of middle-class women living in Delhi’s upscale Vasant Kunj area. Marwah dives into the world of “aunties,” capturing the everyday complexities, aspirations, and social pressures that define their lives. Through their stories, she presents a layered critique of societal expectations, the impact of social standing, and the universal quest for self-worth. The Aunties of Vasant Kunj is perfect for readers interested in a novel that’s both thought-provoking and lighthearted. Overall, this book offers an enjoyable and insightful read, filled with humor, empathy, and an honest look at the nuances of urban Indian life.

I found Marwah’s hint at a sequel to Aunties of Vasant Kunj incredibly exciting. The idea of revisiting these characters and their growth is tantalizing. It’s like leaving a favorite café only to realize you can return for another cup of coffee and more shared stories.

aunties of vasant kunj is a book which tells story of three different ladies in different point of their lives and how a place 'vasant kunj' can be center of their lives connecting them through a rope and showing how at some point they are at same distance from the center. i am pretty sure that prof. anuradha marwah has written it as simple but yet has showcased crux of the lives of those three women. in this interview when she said 'life is finite, one should use each and everyday', we can understand that how much hardwork she has done for this book, the title and the synopsis seem easy, but i am pretty sure it will lead the readers to those complex problems which they are unaware of. this interview was very important for me as a reader because it talked about everything. how beautifully prof. anuradha marwah talked about title of the book, the research she did for this book, the beginning of the idea for the book and even how this book at some point has autobiographical elements. i loved the interview because it convinced me to read the book , which I'll definitely do.

Anuradha Marwah is a brilliant and incisive author. This interview reflects that what a woman could just imagine or fantasize, she has weaven into this beautiful story. She hasn't left any corner where one could fill something else. She is so full of life and so is this interview which encourages one to go through the book at least once to experience the life of Aunties of Vasant Kunj.... Neeta Anejaji has tried her best to get out the best from the Author.

Amazing insightful interview. Through the interview I can understand that Aunties of Vasant Kunj is a must read! Catching the lightness and nuances of Delhi's social landscape, the author adorably does it with something of witty storytelling and relatable characters. Hilarious and heart-wrenching all at once, bringing forth community, gossip, and the little dramas that make the neighborhoods like Vasant Kunj so special...
