Do i have to request for usmle transcript before i apply to programs? Or is it send directly to the programs when i apply.
@matcharesident6 ай бұрын
It's best to have that information when you submit your application, but you can send it to them after if you don't have it in time!

Will Application Builder also assess what you build with it?
@matcharesident6 ай бұрын
You would use the Application Assessor to assess what you create with the builder. This is a good way to make any edits to your draft and ensure the quality!

Solving a significant gap between graduation and applying for residency can be challenging, but there are several steps you can take to address and minimize this gap such as: Clinical Experience, Research or Publications, Observerships and Shadowing, Volunteer work, Educational Enhancements and Networking.

can i ask from my current employment instead of from internship ?
@matcharesident5 ай бұрын
Yes, you can ask for an LoR from your current employment, especially if it's more relevant to your residency application. Make sure it's from someone who knows your work well and can provide a strong recommendation.

I noticed some of the info between min requirements for interview differ in residency explorer from match a resident What does that mean ? And which one do I follow ?
@matcharesident Жыл бұрын
It's not uncommon to see discrepancies between our database and other websites. This is because we do not rely on program websites, but rather we contact programs directly to get their updated requirements for each cycle!

Most of the physicians I see are immigrants and I found them to be the most competent and caring doctors. I am so grateful for their deep commitment to their profession and they are part of the US healthcare system.❤️

Could the fact that she was a recent grad at the time be a factor?...No? How does this work with older grads of >10 years?
@matcharesident Жыл бұрын
Older graduates are definitely more at a disadvantage compared to recent grads. You can learn about applying as an older candidate here: blog.matcharesident.com/strategies-older-candidates/

I would have been interested to hear his remarks on Step 1 being reported as a numerical result for applicants that took it before it went to pass/fail vs the applicants that have it show up as pass/fail only. Listening to him talk about having to emphasis step scores due to the number of applicants, it seems like it leads to discrimination for the applicants that have the numerical result reported.
