When you work as an electrician apprentice you get all the fun chores, like running romex in attics where it is 200 degrees thru all kinds of dust, insulation, bat poop etc. And staying on the studs, where if you slip and put a hand or foot thru the ceiling. Then you learn all kinds of new skills. Just think what this job of yours would have cost. That is why people still try to do it yourself for this and plumbing.But, thanks to Yoo hoo tube we can at least ask a few questions, like: "can I watch" and "I will get an inspection for code, just want to let you know".

Well I have a Tesla so I will definitely NOT be making wakes through any saltwater anytime soon intentionally. That's awesome about the Leaf and bolt. I heard if the water gets into the car via through the door it seems to find it's way into the battery. Not sure if all cars are like that. I'm hoping the message gets out to anyone with an EV just to be on the safe side. Sucks to have your car burn but really sucks to have that fire burn your house down as well. Whats the difference between the mechanical and digital timer
@YourFloridaElectrician28 күн бұрын
The mechanical timer has a rotating mechanical clock that hits on and off triggers to three sets of them. if the power goes out the time will get behind by how much time the lights go out for. Digital timer, you can set the time and have the water heater come on multiple times a day probably up to six or more times and they have a battery back up so even if the power goes out, it’ll keep the time and keep the contactor operating . Also, the mechanical timer is much noisier, especially if you have it on adjacent wall of a bedroom you can hear it clicking away . The digital timer doesn’t make any noise with the exception of the contactor, opening opening and closing. Great question Sean. 👏

Pausing at 18mins 15 seconds pros of doing parallel wiring is quality workmanship, no voltage drop and if receptacle fails the rest wont fail downline since were using the mainline method
@YourFloridaElectricianАй бұрын
It’s definitely a better all-around connection
@seanstrickley3992Ай бұрын
I never use backstab i dont trust it and don't want tp cause fires. I always pretwist and use the screws as connections and wire in parallel
@YourFloridaElectricianАй бұрын
Backstabs are horrible. They only use them to speed up the trim out process. Using the screws is a way better connection. And of course wire in parallel. If you tried to wire in series, you’d find out real quick that doesn’t work.

Should check the ground and neutrals to see if your getting unbalanced loads
@YourFloridaElectricianАй бұрын
Well, the grounds and neutrals don’t have anything to do with an unbalanced load. It’s actually how much one line is pulling in compared to the other line . You can usually take an app clamp meter and check the neutral between the two phases. If there’s a big difference, you can compare line to line to amp wise and see how far off they are . If they are unbalanced and stay that way all the time you can move breakers around to help balance it out . I hope that makes sense
@seanstrickley3992Ай бұрын
Its possible because u dont use every breaker or all power at once typically. We only use a part of the panel throughout the day. Never do we use nearly 200 amps in a day at once maybe 80 amps if that
@YourFloridaElectricianАй бұрын
Not even 80 A honestly. Not unless you got the dryer your EV charger cranking out 48 A and your pool pump and your AC is running. Will you ever get near 80 Amp.

@YourFloridaElectricianАй бұрын
Receptacles are definitely connected in parallel. If they were connected in series, you would keep losing voltage every time you plug in something else if they were lights, it would keep getting dimmer and dimmer. The old Christmas tree, strand lighting were done in series.
