What an absolute moron Turnbull was, Tennant is explaining the Busby Babes, something he isn't that familiar with as a self-confessed non-football fan, and this arsehole whose earlier interjections were bad enough ends up saying "oh you met harry redknapp" absolute knobhead

This was a great film to be part of. I was one of the rescuers who puts Matt Busby (Dougray Scott) into the ambulance in the plane crash scene. I met David when he was shooting the coming to Newcastle train station scene whilst on my day off.

Didn't know about this film.... going to seek it out and watch it. I recently handed over my fathers football scrapbook from his days in the early 50's playing in United's junior teams, Colts and the A team, alongside some of the Babes (Davd Pegg, Albert Scanlon, Bill Foulkes, Jackie Blanchflower, Geoff Bent, Mark Jones) to the United Museum archive. Although my father wasn't involved in Munich in any way, despite my curiosity, he wouldn't talk about it. I think it affected him deeply.

Watching this 65 years on from the actual event, when I was just 6 years old. By the time I was 10 I’d made my first trip to see a live match and have followed them ever since. A very difficult watch for anyone who loves the club and for many others, such is their legacy.

I broke my leg playing football on the school playground in Doncaster at almost the same time as the crash. My grandmother took me to the Doncaster Royal Infirmary and told me of the crash as my leg was about to be set in plaster. David Pegg was from Highfields to the North of Doncaster and his funeral atracted hundreds of mourners.

No need for poetic licence whatsoever. Bent. Byrne. Colman. Edwards. Jones. Pegg. Taylor. Whelan. Crickmer. Curry. Whalley. Satinoff. 8 journalists. 2 crew. Travel agent. Roger Byrne OUR WORTHY CAPTAIN.

Certain details people may quibble? Like Mark Jones names as captain, and the writing out of the actual captain, Roger Byrne...who died too.

I've never heard of this movie which is odd because I'm a big fan of both a Man U and David Tennant . Now I just need to find the movie somewhere and watch it.

Badly miscast in the role. Looked nothing like Jimmy Murphy and was too young.

This disaster is similar to what happened to the Marshall University Football Team, their plane crashed in bad weather (Southern Airways 932), they also had to rebuild a team after incredible tragedy. May the all the dead Rest In Peace.

It was a great tribute very well done. Tennant was excellent as Jimmy. Why spoil the interview by mentioning a Liverpool player? When will we get an investigation, not a whitewash, into the Heysel Liverpool disaster?
@shaka75943 жыл бұрын
Research was not thorough...tim healy shud've played jimmy murphy as he was his stature and nature, mark jones was not captain, roger byrne was and he and tommy taylor being major players along with edwards shud've been a big part of the doc..baffles me to why..plus jones did not enter a football field smoking a pipe..that said crash scenes where near perfect to actual reports.

The entire show was a great tribute and reminder of a terrible tragedy. The scene where David (jimmy Murphy) is in the board room and tells the board united will go on no matter what , not only as a united fan but as a person that scene hit me

Tomadeuce He's drawing parallels with major English footballers of the contemporary era, not necessarily those who played with Manchester United. Beckham was no longer a United player at this point.
