For somebody in the future wondering aboult all those inches things here's what bing copilot told me: The sizing of hose fittings can be a bit tricky since it varies by the type and standards. A 3/8-inch hose usually uses 3/8-inch BSP (British Standard Pipe) threads, which can be approximately 15mm in external diameter. However, these fittings are often referred to by their nominal bore sizes, rather than their actual physical dimensions. What size thread is for 3/4 inch hose? For a 3/4-inch hose, the most common thread size used is typically 3/4-inch BSP (British Standard Pipe) or NPT (National Pipe Thread) depending on the region and standard. The actual diameter of the threads for a 3/4-inch BSP fitting is about 26.44 mm, and for a 3/4-inch NPT fitting, it is roughly 26.99 mm. These threads are often used for garden hoses, plumbing, and various industrial applications. Always check the specific requirements and standards for your project to ensure compatibility.

My only concern now is, how do you regulate the flow of water when the washer is not on and you are only using the kitchen sink? Do you need to get a cut-off velve to the dish washer lines going to the washing machine that would allow you to turn it off when the washer is not un used? Or should that not be problem as I am worries about pressure build up from the flow of water to the washing machine when it is not on and when you are not using the kitchen sink. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
@RionLyle5 ай бұрын
having a separate shut-off could be cool. but generally washing machines are always under pressure. cheers!

Before I do this… Did anyone have any problems with hooking up the washer drain system to the sink drain pipe? Like did it back up or overflow?

funny enough I've never heard a complaint. I remember just watching it a lot in the beginning to make sure it didn't back up. Good to be cautious

I love this! The dread I faced with having to move to an apartment that I would not be able to use my lovely washer in. I just knew this had to be possible. The new apartment's kitchen is definitely big enough to have a washer just hanging out. With a new kid on the way too.... Its just going to make things sooo much more simpler and time saving. Thank you for sharing such a simple and detailed fix to my problem ❤❤❤ Now if i have an electric dryer... Can i just place that anywhere near a window for it to vent out of?
@RionLyle11 ай бұрын
The electric dryer might be more tricky, unless you can find a 110 volt option. Or if there is a 240 volt outlet... fingers crossed. (venting out the wind seems reasonable) Congrats on the baby!

can i link the hot and cold water supply together to go to my "cold water" only washing machine? it claims only cold but I already used it to wash in hot water fine, ill take my chances :)
@RionLyle Жыл бұрын
You’ll probably need a way to switch between the two. If both hot and cold are connected then they can mingle in odd ways, like when you turn on cold water in the faucet, then like warm water comes out

You can also put in a PVC why drain underneath the sink connecting for the hose and for your sink If you own your apartment, you could also drill a hole through the back of the cabinets because it looks like he would only have to do three holes , and get plastic liners for the holes, and run your tubing and drainage tube through those

would this work for portable washer? I dont have a standard kitchen faucet to where I can just hook it up directly to the faucet. Im gunna have to go under the sink but I will have to roll mt washer to the sink and hook it up every timei need to wash. is it possible to do this same connection but with a valve that I can shut off on one side?
@RionLyle Жыл бұрын
I bet there is a solution that would work how you describe it. adding extra shut-offs, and maybe quick connect like this ... let me know how it goes... www.homedepot.com/p/Powercare-3-8-in-Male-Quick-Connect-x-Female-NPT-Kit-for-Pressure-Washer-AP31037B/100664031

Can you also tap directly into the drain under the sink?
@RionLyle Жыл бұрын
There might be a way to do that. The main issue with washing machine wastewater is the amount that comes out at a time. So the water needs to evacuate quickly through the pipes or else it backs up... best of luck to you!

I left it exposed. I probably would have routed it behind the cabinets and hard-piped the drain if it wasn't a rental. I don't recall it bothering me.

Hey! So sorry I can't be there to help in person. There are 3 options I can think of, maybe there is a missing or damaged gasket, maybe you need to have thread tape, or maybe you need to tighten it more. Hope you were able to keep it contained.
