I think the point of seated box jumps is to jump from the seated position. You’re jumping after getting up and into a jumping stance rather than straight from the seated position. Maybe try putting the boxes closer together so you don’t have to lean so much forward that it causes you to leave the seated position before the jump is initiated. Look at the angle of your knees, you’re at a 90* angle when sitting but when you power out of the jump you are at more of a 110* angle which lowers your range of explosiveness.

Thank you. The point for this specific type is merely taking out the stretch reflex portion of the lift. There are so many different type of variations for box jumps.

If you want to level it up a little, next time try and make a pause at the lowest point of the movement, that pause will make you loose all the momentum that you build up during your set thus making the push up itself harder By the way great work, my man, keep up the grind!💯🤘🏻

Hey, do you think the Rogue Z or even the RH-2 would hold up in a commercial gym? I have the money but really don't want this machine in my garage or inside the house lol. I go to a really well equipped commercial gym and I'm familiar with the manager there and been allowed to bring things like farmers walk handles, etc. My biggest concern is someone breaking the handles specifically, it was a reason I think the RH-2 might be better, as the handles are fixed and cannot be adjusted.

Great video, but I must admit. It makes me feel pretty stupid lol! I have the same barbell as you... In fact I have about 20 of them at our gym. I cannot for the life of me get the snap ring off. I used a pair of snap ring pliers, but I squeezed them so hard they themselves snapped. Then, I bought a more expensive pair of internal snap ring pliers. Been trying for days now, sometimes 1-2 hours at a time with no luck. I had to stop because I was getting inflammation from all the squeezing... But for the love of God I still can't remove the snap ring! It's as though the pliers don't close quite far enough for the ring to loosen properly. If I try to pull or wiggle the pliers at all, they just pop straight off of the snap ring. I must be as dumb as a bag of bricks. Any ideas what I am doing wrong? It looks so simple for the videos. Thanks.
@thebarthegym20172 жыл бұрын
The technique of removing the snap ring is an art lol. Took me forever to get it down. First make sure your snap ring pliers are serviceable. If they are worn down you are fighting an uphill battle. Next, Insert the pliers as far into the snap ring as you can, usually this means approaching the ring at an angle rather than in a perpendicular manner. once your plier is in, then you want to try to get them as perpendicular with the snap ring as possible. Once your pliers are positioned right, give them a nice and steady squeeze until you feel the snap ring release. DO NOT OVERSQUEEZE!!! Then you should be able to easily remove the snap ring from the barbell. There are multiple rings so you will get practice.
@steveboutcher802 жыл бұрын
@@thebarthegym2017 Thanks a lot for the reply. My pliers are brand new. The problem is likely my technique then. I wonder if I am perhaps squeezing too hard, especially since I snapped my other pliers. I'll keep trying. Thanks again.
