My laptop does not show a wifi adapter inside device manager

There was a physical button on the side of the laptop computer! It must have been turned off accidentally. I didn't get involved, but left it to the husband. I did Google it, but I was asking Google the wrong question. The hubby said that the issue was that the computer was in airplane mode and he couldn't rectify it.

Unfortunely none of these steps restored my usb ports, guess I'm buying a usb hub.
